You have to squint to see it most of the time but every now and then it’s a tad heavier.I’ve never seen snow this small before. It’s dancing around - very cool

I’m all for that. Perhaps a couple thunderclaps as wellMan what if this line coming is all sleet? I mean… that would be absolutely bonkers.
As he / we should be. It also looks after dark, which will help with any ice accrual (no daytime sun angle, which I would think affect accrual efficiency some, especially when you get in the 28F+ temperature range).
Our best hope is that it is sleet, and if it is it will be truly awesome. Light sleet is kind of lame, especially compared to snow, but heavy sleet is legitimately cool!
Glad it was gentle with you.46 degrees and the line coming through LaGrange GA.. never made it to the 61 predicted yesterday.. or 56, or 51 predicted today… no thunder or lightning.
Impressive

From what I’ve read, that mesolow in east Alabama is helping to keep the CAD locked in stronger
Yes! Thunder snow was incredible. Will never forget that.I think the last time I saw a convective disco during an event was March 2009
Interesting, the meso low situation might explain why temps didn’t rise rapidly here once that band of heavy rain moved through 30 mins ago. The airport went from 34 to 36 and it held steady at 33 in NW Atlanta where I am. The winds also shifted from the SE to the NW now. I am concerned about flash freezing. I don’t know if these NW winds will be able to evaporate rainfall off the roadways/sidewalks in time before temps drop to and below freezing again later this evening. From what I’ve read, that mesolow in east Alabama is helping to keep the CAD locked in stronger
What site is this from? I have been trying hard to recreate a very similar map
