Wintry January 21-23 2025

I like what I'm seeing on Radar for Atlanta and points north and east. Looking like the globals(GFS/EURO) are right and the hrrr is way too dry.

The Donut Hole at the ATL radar site is quickly collapsing and even the wettest globals dont have snow breaking out in ATL until around 2pm.
Could you kindly post the EURO for your Neighbors 125 miles N East ? Im working and cant see. Thank you for all the reports today! Glad for all whos seeing some

We've had constant Flurries/Light Snow for about 30 minutes but not enough to stick yet.

Worst time of day with regards to solar radiation right now, but that’ll improve over the next couple hours. I know people like to poo poo this as a factor, but it absolutely is with light rates and more so when the temperature is closer to freezing.

NC is going to end up in a good spot with regards to diurnal timing once again. It seems like nearly every storm I can remember rolls in here near dark. This isn’t actually always true, but it’s surprisingly common for some reason. Probably just luck of the draw.

The sun is actually out a little bit IMBY.

My useless snow forecast for NC for what it’s worth:

Chapel Hill / Durham: 1-2”
Raleigh: 1-3”
Greenville, NC: 3-6”
Charlotte: 1-2” (probably more like T-1” at the airport)
Greensboro: T-1”

I usually am too high with these because I’m a weenie.

The water vapor loop over past several hours does look nice it looks like someone turned on the faucet in the gulf and it's leaking out across Southern MS up thru Central Alabama

I was just about to say this, this has all the makings an overperformer.

That back end is looking juiced
