From radar observations were closing in on moistening up the entire column. I’d say 1 or 2 more hours to go and you should start seeing snow fly!

It’s taking forever because the precip is so darn light. The column is just bending instead of crashing like with the last storm.

Flakes have started now. Not much, but I think it’s about to dump.

Still just really light on and off flurries here, but the cloud deck has really lowered. I'm starting to the GFS is pretty accurate in it's qpf prediction for NGA/Upstate. I think we're getting 1/10th of liquid over the next 3-4 hours. That ATL radar is caving fast and it should be on like donkey kong once that happens. with several hours of solid precip left.

My useless snow forecast for NC for what it’s worth:

Chapel Hill / Durham: 1-2”
Raleigh: 1-3”
Greenville, NC: 3-6”
Charlotte: 1-2” (probably more like T-1” at the airport)
Greensboro: T-1”

I usually am too high with these because I’m a weenie.

It's dry as a desert above us at 5-6 degree dewpoint most of the day and not really budged sadly doesn't look like its gonna happen for anybody north of I-20 maybe outside of ATL

I've been saying this for a while....the dry air is really getting supplied. Unless you get under, and stay under, some heavy precip, it's just not going to produce.
