How concerned should we be that all hi-res models are giving nothing west of a line from Augusta to Columbia to Raleigh? The RAP looks especially awful
It is little surprising. We’re seeing the same subtle changes on the NAM that we’re seeing on the other models, but for some reason it just seem to be translating into more moisture on it

along the lower South Carolina coastal counties, especially inland
of US 17.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you
must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will
keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to
reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a
hat will keep you from losing your body heat.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.

Good example right here. It’ll take a while for columns to moisten up but this is exactly why I’m not changing my map. I’d like to see the short range models continue to trend this direction at H5 though

People on the Storm2K Texas Winter Thread who live in Southern Texas are reporting the cloud cover is in coming quicker then expected.

I'm not the upper level map expert, but looks like 18z NAM is giving back our gains from the 12z run wrt to the alignment of the pieces of energy. Hopefully I'm wrong.

EDIT: Now out to 18 hours and getting a little better?

Slightly warmer than last run through 20 hours. which could be good for northern folks. Of course, this is splitting hairs to the Nth degree and probably foolhardy to even mention lol. H5 looks a smidge better to me, as well, but could be mistaken there.
