Kooky gulf coast snows have been a thing the past few years. I live in an area that sees around 20 inches on average and have been outsnowed by places in South Texas and Louisiana a few times in the last several winters.

Problem is, with that look at h5 you aren’t getting a HP in position for CAD, either.Yeah with this look a winter storm ain’t happening unless theres somehow a CAD, that’s just ugly

I don't know what to say it pretty much snow north east South and west of me regardless if this happens or notI dont care what anyone says, I'm all in on this one. Gfs has been consistent with this. Plus this storm starts little over 200 hours
Possible reason for this, the GFS snow maps there are showing freezing rain/sleet as snow. The GEFS map may only be showing snowfall. If you look at the soundings under all that snow they are all freezing rain/sleet soundings with surface temps in some of those locations in South Texas in the 20s with 850s well above freezing.

Euro is back to reality as well. Pacific Ocean is a monster.
