-5 in Raleigh. Other than that, it looks warm. I think we're going to be in a bit of a holding pattern after the shapshot cold coming up.But wait, there’s more ? we’re just getting started View attachment 31179
It’s really the torch of all torches. Not sure I’ve ever seen anything quite like this lolI'll join the warmth party: and now even RDU is AN

Only greater than 34 AN in SE Canada. I guess it could be worse. Can't see the hemisphere map, but I'll bet Russia is cold. Going to be some more AC running if this turns out correct.I'll join the warmth party: and now even RDU is AN. Remember how cold this period was on the models?

Thanks. Lot's of +s to go around. Will probably do a number on our upstream snow pack too.
Lol the only places in N hemisphere that are cold are the only 2 places we need it warm, Greenland and Alaska!
This is still a transient warm shot .. not even deadly warm and nothing like what we just went through just looks more scary with those colors .. transient warm shot in a colder pattern .. I’ll take those

Yes I noticed the energy in the trough was stronger and further west. Coastal sections still need to pay attention, and even here in RDU will keep an eye on itFinally!
Meanwhile, before it warms back up, let's not totally forget the chance for coastal action. It was closer and very close on this same 12Z Euro:

Maybe we can get one of those potential vorticity anomalies to spin up out of a rogue tstorm complex and force rapid cyclogensis much farther west than forecast.Yes I noticed the energy in the trough was stronger and further west.
