This is pretty crazy - no melting yet at all. It’s 29 degrees and basically everything has close today. It is gorgeous to say the least

I missed out on the 1 1/4 last night from the bands rotating in but 36 hours straight with no sleep was all i could take !!! My final total was 10 1/4..... a long duration storm for sure.

Just don’t understand why blizzard warnings can’t be issued. This is more severe than what is typically seen in the Dakota’s out west. Drifting is killing the roads in Ashe/Watuaga no point in plowing with a few feet of snow blowing off the hills.
I have family in Crumpler and this is one of the more severe blizzard conditions in many years.
Quick stroll. Roads a lil dicey this afternoon. Only saw an ambulance and one truck on the roads.
Getting some tiny flurries in Alpharetta. Great way to wrap it up! Happy MLK Day everyone.

Current situation up 421 out of Wilkes. Roads are good in patches but still snowing. ? Watauga below.

I have a few flakes flying around in Woodstock. I had relatives with 2 kids leave after stopping here overnight on their way to a funeral in Hurlock Maryland. They are taking I 85 ,I 95 ,US 50 route. Driving a truck with all terrain tires . Wondering if any roads closures or just bad areas I should warn them about. They left around 11:30
Still snowing. What a storm up there. App already canceled classes tommorow. Which never happens

How much snow melted ?
Wow, that’s brutal. I’m like 15 miles from the airport as the crow flies and it was so different here. Love to see my first street sticker in years…
Reminded me of February 2014 when we got tons of sleet (after initial snow) at like 20 degrees. Wild stuff!

Took this pic this am hoping to show the layers. You can see the sleet layer between about 5 and 7 inches. No melting really today. Driveway is clear waiting on the next one...hopefully soon!
Still snowing in Boone and surrounding area. Unreal, been snowing non stop going on 40 hours, with the exception of about a 3 to 4 hour window as they transitioned to upslope. Know one guy in chains on jeep cant get out to main road. Gonna have to plow out of this one. Several 20+ accums .
This no doubt rivaled 1993 for Avery,watauga,ashe,Alleghany area. As high,if not higher accums, winds etc.
