Pattern Jammin January 2024

A classic arctic front with anafrontal precip. A west of the apps special.

Yea that’s only thing that scares me. Sometime them anafrontal snows can bite you in the butt.

We did have one heck of a sleet storm out of one. The afternoon before it was low 70’s and next morning mid 20’s with like 3 inches of sleet. Pretty cool.
 
Was that when we had two events in a matter of days? Or was that Feb of 14?I remember the cold snap in 14. One of the best I can remember around here. Barney cold and the sky had a polar haze to it for days and days
Feb 2014 was that one. Jan 2014 was a “smaller” event but still nice.

You would think with the way this has progressed that it would eventually lead to that outcome.
 
There’s just never enough time for the Carolina folks when your low is forming on the same boundary that was bringing the cold. Best case mountains delay the cold and you get rained on. Worst case ENC folks get snow. Just doesn’t work
