Yea that’s only thing that scares me. Sometime them anafrontal snows can bite you in the butt.A classic arctic front with anafrontal precip. A west of the apps special.
We did have one heck of a sleet storm out of one. The afternoon before it was low 70’s and next morning mid 20’s with like 3 inches of sleet. Pretty cool.

Don’t sleep on the actual vort either. A few gefs members last run turned the corner enough for a few coastal snowstorm members

Feb 2014 was that one. Jan 2014 was a “smaller” event but still nice.
Snow map. But ice/freezing rain counted too. 
I bet some of the snow ratio up in Tn is around 15:1. Temps up there is mid 20’s and snow.

No just seemed as if Op followed the ensembles footsteps by pushing the cold air in faster
You would think with the way this has progressed that it would eventually lead to that outcome.

Yea op wasnt to far off from a late 4th qtr flare up that would have been good for coastal areas. Ensembles will be fun

The GFS popped a weak low off the coast this run. Definitely something to watch at this lead.

That was close. If I was east of the apps I’d root for this to become a option 
1051 CO/WY boarder @ 180hr. She cold. Shoves that energy south and pops a coastal that rides the boundary…that was interesting

At this point how do we not have a thread for this threat?
GEM holds back to much so it’s frontal in nature, but it progresses some energy into the Atlantic and is close for CAD areas

Gotta love when disney is being stuck below freezingBrrr.
There’s just never enough time for the Carolina folks when your low is forming on the same boundary that was bringing the cold. Best case mountains delay the cold and you get rained on. Worst case ENC folks get snow. Just doesn’t work

Sad this is 12 days out, but shows how much potential this pattern has
Thats all this is at this range, but definitely potential.
Baja bowling ball sighting later in the run. Trough really digging in out front. My favorite setup bar none 
And that’s how you get a board wide storm.
Shears it out, but lots of potential.
