Yea that’s only thing that scares me. Sometime them anafrontal snows can bite you in the butt.

We did have one heck of a sleet storm out of one. The afternoon before it was low 70’s and next morning mid 20’s with like 3 inches of sleet. Pretty cool.

Was that when we had two events in a matter of days? Or was that Feb of 14?I remember the cold snap in 14. One of the best I can remember around here. Barney cold and the sky had a polar haze to it for days and days

Feb 2014 was that one. Jan 2014 was a “smaller” event but still nice.

I bet some of the snow ratio up in Tn is around 15:1. Temps up there is mid 20’s and snow.
This map is based off a 10:1 ratio.

You would think with the way this has progressed that it would eventually lead to that outcome.

Yea op wasnt to far off from a late 4th qtr flare up that would have been good for coastal areas. Ensembles will be fun

The GFS popped a weak low off the coast this run. Definitely something to watch at this lead.

There’s just never enough time for the Carolina folks when your low is forming on the same boundary that was bringing the cold. Best case mountains delay the cold and you get rained on. Worst case ENC folks get snow. Just doesn’t work
