NOAA Doppler radar imagery indicates that the eye of Ida made a
second landfall along the southeastern coast of Louisiana just
southwest of Galliano around 200 PM CDT (1900 UTC). Maximum
sustained winds are estimated to be 145 mph (235 km/h). The
estimated central pressure is 934 mb (27.58 in).

water seems to have receded on John Humpress2 cam in grand isle..
It has. You can also tell that the wind has shift direction as well

It's on the outer edge of the outer wall now and hopefully for the ones trapped in Grand Isle, about to wind down soon...
Galliano, LA East 58 Gusts to 98 mph.. pressure down to 28.41"...2 pm CDT
2PM CDT N.O. stations: rapid pressure falls continue and winds increasing at Lakefront. Also, note the very tight pressure gradient as the 3 mb/.09” difference from one part of the city to the other shows:

Reed is still online. I'm not familiar with where St. Charles Parish is, but severestudios has a multi-cam stream going.

Yeah it doesnt seem bothered by land
I think it has something to do with the marshes. I do think as it goes further inland, the weakening will increase.
For all practical purposes, it still hasn't lost its warm moist energy source with most of the center either still over water, storm surge covered areas (essentially water), or swamps/marshes. Once we go another couple of hours, the weakening should start to accelerate.

I am always mesmerized by any hurricanes that keep their $h!t together post landfall. It is awesome, but in the biblical sense of the word, as in absolutely horrifying. Michael and Harvey come to mind
3 PM CDT N.O. stations show a continued increase in winds and rapid drop in pressure along with a continued very strong gradient reflected by the 0.10" difference between the airport and lakefront:

Those mid/late summer northern gulf waters never seem to disappoint. Structure looks good.

I must say, great job with the models (last 72 hours) or so with the landfall point.
