This would be another win for the GFSv16 if this occurs. GFSv16 had this on the 18z run on the 17th.

Am I crazy or did that euro run resemble last February’s system
The TPV look was very similar, but there was a big old ridge in the NW/Central US that storm. This one is even more threading the needle.
Which is why RNK will snow while we cold rain in NC

Lol if we’ve already been loosing battles to marginal setups that end up favoring climo areas, then the chances of this happening is so low, with this one you have to get perfect timing and look at H5, I’m not thinking it will do much of anything, cold rain tho

This would be about right for the I-20 corridor. Snow storms to the west, north and east this winter. I fully expect an epic snow storm for the I-10 corridor in March.This would be another win for the GFSv16 if this occurs. GFSv16 had this on the 18z run on the 17th.

The real GFS is suppressed.
Well, thanks to the last week of Arctic air across the southern plains, my temperature has averaged -8.6 for February so far. It doesn't look like I get much above average during next week's warm-up, so it looks I'll finally get a cold February this year.

Id keep an eye on nuisance ice Monday morning. It will Flip to cold rain quickly if it does.

Happens a lot this time of year climo wise NC.
Enjoy the last week or 2 of cool air, before all those gnats,mosquitoes,weed eating,mowing and mildew cleaning you keep longing for show up for their annual 7 month fiesta.
I’m too young to remember, but I’ve read that the day before the March 1980 storm got going it was well up into the 60s and 70s throughout the Carolinas.
Bring on that Heat index of 106 ! I’ll be ballin in that no problem
Oth the GEFS might double down, waiting for the mean to load

Here is the data for PGV....started as rain on the 29th, then went to sleet that night then there was a lull and the trailing system hit around the morning of the 1st and it then flipped to snow and then that low bombed.....

OTD back in 1884, one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks in history occurred and basically encompassed an area covering this entire board.
Not gonna lie, it was kind of scary reading some of the accounts from this event. The deadliest tornado in NC history came in this outbreak thanks to a long-lived tornado that tracked from southeastern Anson Co, thru Rockingham, to Hoffman, & then southwestern Harnett Co.
