Wintry February 6th-7th

2 inches of sleet beats 1 inch of 32.6 degree wind driven rain any day of the week. Lost count of the rainy days with temps in the 30s this season
I don't remember the year but remember we had over 3inches of sleet in Winston. I remember plowing it and watching it roll down hill

The good ole days when you could make cash plowing. Now you have to convoy 3 states away to make money in the winter.

It may have been 1994 the last time we had big sleet. a couple of inches followed by major cold. Airport was closed for days because they did not plow while "soft" then it turned to concrete. Might be wrong on the year, but was around that time. Plowable sleet is not common.

00z GFS a bit south? Nice front end thump for the NC Piedmont. Is there hope? Seems the NW shifts have stopped, anyways. Will be interesting to see the other modeling tonight.

00z RGEM came south a bit compared to its 18z run. Hammers NW Piedmont, it would appear (might need to check soundings, though). Roxboro bullseye, which seems legit.

I wonder if we're seeing a potential trend towards a less amped southern stream. That would be great for areas on the border(parts of ATL metro, Greenville, Charlotte, etc).

Grand slam tonight on 0z models. Hopefully euro keeps it up. Ill take 3 to4 and wait for snow apocalypse mid to late week.

Let's hope so. Not getting my hopes up too much, but I'll keep on hoping, haha.

Just bit the $25 bullet and reupped my WeatherBell subscription. Time to reel something in....
