GFS/ICON/Euro/CMC all look really similar honestly. Seems like we may get the complete undercutting scenario with some form of a 50/50 low, details tbd.
The CMC also has some snow
CMC looked much better at H5, finally throws NC a bone

I don’t know of a 500mb evolution for a storm quite like this in the history books. Southern stream wave running perpendicular into a low anomaly / back door cold front that is dropping due south out of E Canada…and meeting up over the southeast

Yea, it's one of those weird things where I don't remember an even remotely similar threat/look that didn't pan out. Really a wild setup and I don't personally have any history to go on for how I think it may evolve on modeling. Just have to cross our fingers and hope.
February 2004 went right under a Canadian omega block, along with a -NAO

Probably the most elusive fairy dust part of this set up is getting southwest wave to actually transverse underneath the ridge and stay in tact enough generate precip. I know omega blocks aren't that un-common but for one to situate so far south with heights that low underneath it seems really anomalous.

Feb 6,13,20,27. Ive seen us luck up and get on a consecutive 4 week roll / same day of week streak before. Jan 22 was last one. Never know
Some similarities, but some differences too. Central Canadian ridge that is amplifying with 50/50 low dropping due south and running head on into the southern wave is the main difference.

I've tried to erase that storm from my memory. A feather dusting that melted right after it fell in Clemson, SC with higher totals in literally any direction for miles and miles.

Round 2 was close with another system leaving southern Cali, active southern jet for sure.

Nice look here at the end of the CMC Ensemble. Aleutian Low growing / West Coast ridge / SW Low anomaly getting kicked east / + Anomalies working in to Greenland. Matches the progression seen consistently of late on the Euro Weeklies. Not where we need to be but working on it

00Z EPS definitely supporting the OP / Spire and does show quite a bit of noise around an event. Strength and position of 50/50 and ridge would be critical in track and amount of cold air into region IMO.
00z Euro and 00z Spire overall really solid agreement out to hour 180 considering how far out this is and the complexity of the pattern.
