I’m very curious on the models as to why that lollipop in Union county keeps showing?

Still a lot of moisture to work with when the coastal ramps up and spills cold air south

I'd caution the use off stock 10:1 accumulation maps, outside of elevation ratios will avg closer to 6-7:1. Heavy and wet, will stick to everything and potentially cause some power issues for areas that do see the high side of forecast.

That's for highway 11 and north. 1-2 will probably fall there. A trace at best in the 2 big cities. If latest models are right Lancaster and Rock Hill get warning criteria snow while we get nothing. Just not our year in the GSP metro and southwest.

Here's my final call map for this event. Based on this morning's CAM trends and lower than forecasted dew points, I lowered totals for the Triad & far western piedmont, however they increased in the coastal plain.

I expect a respectable band of >6" of snow to setup just east of Raleigh from roughly Wilson to Elizabeth City. Isolated amounts could certainly approach/exceed 8-10"

Interesting... I'm probably only 10 miles N of you at the most and we are getting the heaviest snow we've had of the morning right now. Big flakes falling. Close to an inch on my truck roof accumulation

1.75 inches and snowing very hard. Minimum flake size is quarters but half dollars have been common this morning.

Been snowing very heavy here in North Alabama, near Huntsville. Some of the heaviest I've seen in a long time, yet the radar still thinks it's rain. Even had thundersnow!

CHA was 41/35 as of 7:53, and 41/41 as of 11:21. So, we're actually warming here, despite universally modeled cooling thru the event. Maybe not the best sign for areas to our east...

Some of the rain here in N GA is really heavy so if that ever runs into the colder air further north/northeast, it could very well change someone to mostly snow pretty quickly.
