12z HREF probability matched mean snowfall. Went up considerably for folks south of the Triangle, consistent w/ recent trends in the NAM & HRRR.

To add to an earlier post, here's an animation showing that the HRRR is definitely speeding up the changeover to snow for folks south of the Triangle area. This is like music to the ears of snow lovers in Charlotte, Fayetteville, & Goldsboro, etc. Also starting to increase the potential of snow for parts of the upstate of SC as well.

And as you and I and some others have been trying to say to everyone the past day .. THE HRRR is trash in its long range and as we get closer it will cool like the rest of them .. the question was the precip not the cold ... and we have the precip... and we now definitely have the cold

Nice surprise for NW AL... ground is white (streets are fine) and still have light snow falling. Temps have fallen from 39° when the first flakes began to fall to 36° now.
