This storm is so weird. I mean it's gonna keep snowing all night and maybe snow more tomorrow night. Tbh the snow cover will still look pretty perfect Friday morning ? just insane

Moving start time of WSW for West TN counties bordering the MS
River, including Shelby County, to now. Temps have fallen to
freezing across parts of this area already with reports of light
icing in Tiptonville. Cold air coming in quicker than even the
more aggressive model data has depicted. Looking more likely that
sub freezing air will be in place across much of the ice storm
warning area by the time the heavier precipitation arrives later
tonight. More adjustments may be needed. Stay tuned.

Unless this counts what’s already fallen, OUN has another 4-6 inches of snow here. So far seems like we have about 2.5-4 inches here. Hard to tell given how much it’s blowing around.

1AM Temps for my location were to be at 37 degrees. I am currently sitting at 36 degrees.

Kind of surprised but I only measured about 2 inches here. I was expecting a bit of a bigger start tbh and it's not over at all but still it's beautiful out but wow this wind needs to go away ? it's awful

No joke about that wind. I’ve been mostly staying in areas protected a bit from the wind and even then it’s still bitter out there.

RGEM still coming in very aggressive with ice totals. As the temps continue to drop here ahead of forecasted times I'm wondering if it may not be so far off?

Arctic air continues to plunge further into the Mid-South earlier
than expected. Going to make another adjustment to the warnings by
converting Dunklin County from the Ice Storm Warning to the Winter
Storm Warning as freezing rain will likely change over to sleet on
Thursday as the warm layer above the surface erodes. In addition,
going to add Benton County, Tennessee to the Ice Storm Warning as
Paris is already 34 degrees. Concerned Northern Benton County
could change over to freezing rain earlier than expected resulting
in higher ice accumulations. Will also move up the start time of
the warning of Ice Storm Warning for the tier from Henry County to
Haywood County to begin at midnight. Made some temperatures
adjustments as well to account for the colder temperatures already
occurring across the northwest half of the CWA. Update will be
out shortly.

Looking at the most recent run of the HRRR and it doesn't drop the temp to 32 degrees in Tunica MS until about 9 hours from now. They are already at 32 degrees according to NWS EDD data.

Snowfall starting to pick back up this morning. Temperature down to 13 as well so rates should be even better then yesterday. OUN has another 2-3 inches around here.

Yeah I'm pretty surprised to see Tulsa reporting 5.8". Last night i definitely wasn't impressed ?

Went out there again and this is where we are as of now. Snow picked up with that next band moving in as well.

Unfortunately, power outages are increasing in and around Shelby County. Seeing increases from MLGW and Entergy Outage Maps. Not too bad here in Tate County but Desoto County is starting to freeze over looking at MDOT Traffic Cams.
