Wintry December 4-7 Winter Precip Chance

I’ll be riding through Soco Gap tomorrow afternoon on the way down the mountain. Looking like a snow shower might not be out of the question ??
 
Models like the HRRR have been really beefing up the amount of moisture we’re seeing on the backend .. could trend all day maybe .. but I’m probably grasping but looks more possible for backend flurries .. MAYBE
 
Melting layer bright band only 3,000 feet above the surface in central NC. We'd only need another 2,000 (ish) feet to get a few snow flakes to mix in w/ the cold rain this morning.

Call it a decent dusting here. Maybe .25 on elevated surfaces. Pretty for a minute! Got down to 33. Not sure how much qpf was wasted getting to near freezing. I am also at 1400 feet so parts of the valley may not have gotten anything if they are a little warmer.

No it was a lame joke gone horribly bad, it was supposed to say really wet, wet not with that's what I get for trying to type it and drive at the same time ????

It’s close though looking at radar snow is literally only a few miles north of the NC border where you are.

Wundermap has a small pocket of snow in Roanoke rapids and another one just dipped in near Henderson so you may still get some compensation flurries or something . Here it’s over we are way too far south.
 
Snow so close to [mention]metwannabe [/mention]he can smell it. Take a drive up I95 to Emporia, son!! I was in Emporia Saturday!! Why couldn’t I have waited ------!!

No snow in RR, I'm not sure if it gets below the border or not.... maybe if a few showers can linger till this evening but otherwise, on to the next one.

I would but stupid stuff like work gets in the way lol.
 
Some of the 12z short range models are showing some light snow showers / flurries passing through central NC tonight. Coverage is very spotty, but maybe we get something to overachieve. RAH has also just added a chance of rain/snow showers for my location tonight.

Yeah that little batch of snow that comes south toward us this evening is interesting. I'll be glued to the radar and window
