Wintry December 28-29th Possible Winter Storm

Yeah I'm just about to call it in on this storm, sure there could be some ZR/IP here but it's looking increasingly less likely it will amount to a whole lot except perhaps maybe the lowlands of SC and far eastern GA

It has the New Years Day threat for us, and so does the Serbian. LOL
 
Why are the models so crappy that they can't get a winter storm right here more than 5 days out 99% of the time? So tired of seeing a good storm on the models 7 days out only for it to turn to nothing.

A little light sleet here at 2am while I was out for my constitutional :) Waited 15 minutes or so and here can a sleet rain mix, and it's on going now at 2:30. Temps went up from 35 to 40 once the heavier precip started, so I don't have much hope for tomorrow morning. Waa is getting this one. Not cold enough. Edit: Now it's back to 38. Hopefully evap cooling will pull it back down some.

You ask this question multiple times each winter. You already know the answer. Things have to pretty much come together exactly right in the SE to get a snowstorm. Models are incapable of resolving finer details at long leads — details that make the difference between snow, ice, rain, or nothing. That’s just the way it is.

Oh this pattern definitely produced some fruit, albeit they were all rotten and already half eaten by the animals. :)

It’s been several years since we had any snow accumulations over 4 inches

If I'm not mistaken WxSouth is that clown that had a Tennessee Weather forum that is no longer active. He lives around Morristown and would argue and curse people out if the didn't agree with him. I think he's just a general contractor/handyman that likes weather as a hobby. I might be wrong but I'm 99.9% sure that's him. He used to post on TalkWeather and TennesseeWeather forum but he keeps getting banned from all the forums.

Different guy. Robert is from NC around the Shelby area I believe. A quality guy and forecaster. He’s really good with microclimates and CAD.
