ICON laying down some heavy snow in WNC this run. Big improvement.
The ICON precip maps on Tidbits do not seem right...29F and rain in western NC does not make sense. That has to be either sleet, snow or freezing rain.
With 40 degree temps?
Honestly this far out on 12z Icon and temps already in lower 40s this storm will get colder as we get closer.

Icon very healthy looking backside precip across Mississippi and Alabama. If it does have a warm bias, then that could be 1-2 inches of snowfall and more to the north.

icon puts me under what looks like a deformation band. probably wont verify but its nice to look at

Nope. In upper 20s actually when bulk of storm is overhead.

Remember, ICON on tidbits doesn't have sleet/ice, just snow and rain.
Much better run than 12z yesterday 
I think it is struggling to pick up sleet which is why it shows rain in much of NC despite subfreezing temps. But this ICON is a step in the right direction

No, it just doesn't show sleet/ice at all on the ICON on tidbits. I think other sites would show the ice.
Yea because I noticed on back side 2m Temps in Columbia SC is in lower 30s which would be great for snow with secondary low.
look at 2m temps on the Icon. . 12+ hours of frozen on the backend over your house
