Okay we've got another TV met mentioning potentially historic cold
You know what thing I notice is the "Delayer" digs more on the Euro than the GFS.
The 00z GFS is another nod to the CMC and away from the Euro.
My guess is that if you get the NW trend with this system, you'd end up with a very wet snow/rain-snow mix on the front end changing to rain. There's not a strong enough feed of cold air or enough of a dynamic system to make this one worth anything notable.
Trending to an icon like evolution. More western ridge in this instance is great

In a perfect world if you get better tilt of the shortwave you would allow some more cold air to feed in on NW quadrant of this system. Im only watching trends here because many posters here said this was a good timeframe and now things look very dry compared to cold and stormy. Not gonna name names but we are wasting decent opportunities here and as many know y’all Carolina peeps don’t get many opportunities. We have seen wilder trends happen in short range before.

Yeah possibility of 72 hours or so below freezing. Friday the 23rd looks especially fun. High of 21? ???
Surely we are not going to let this cold go to waste.
Have mercy..too bad these things never dig and go negative tilt in time. However this is not a progressive/fast moving pattern and a jammed flow can make this interesting down the road ?

Yeah the cold high just sits and spins right over a good bit of Eastern USA... That is very rare to see.

GFS has a similar evolution near Alaska and what was once modeled to park itself in the PNW winds up enhancing the Aleutian low and popping a massive +PNA further out in time.
Much improved gefs run 
Instead of diving down the TPV rotates NW of Alaska towards the Aleutians this run and really gets the western ridge going
It completes a successful -NAO retrograde with a rare +PNA/-NAO combo
I wonder if temps would be cold enough lol. Closed 850 low over SE La.

Pattern wise it feels like we’re toeing a fine line between fail and flourish here. But let’s be honest that’s normally how we roll. If we get this 00z solution someone is going to be digging out.
