There's a new theory about this virus that epidemiologists are floating. They think that this virus might have been going around in China as early as mid-October. There was a major spike of flu cases in Washington in November and there's been an unusual amount of flu-like respiratory cases that have tested negative for influenza across the country.

If so, that's actually relatively comforting. That would also back up that testing for antibodies for coronavirus would be interesting for likely several people. There's no telling who had this virus.

Might depend on the definition of economic collapse...this is uncharted territory for the modern era.

YES! There is a post I put up last night about my daughters specialist (she has neutropenia) He treated several cases end of last year that tested negative for flu that have the marks of this virus all over it. When the samples are tested he will possibly know the answer. China lied about it and downplayed it

Agreed. If people can't keep political garbage out of this thread, the only thread they'll be able to speak in will be the political thread.
 
I did not say it’s going to happen but do you believe that it’s really not possible? You definitely believe the govt is going to take care of you. How can the govt make sure food does not run out? That money does not run out? The govt is not God. The govt can not provide everyone enough money and food. We are talking about 330 million. Just look back at the depression years.

This still doesn't comport with the initial test results from most countries that trace the virus back to place where the virus was rampant. If the virus had already been endemic in the US and in Europe and other countries, many of those initial tests would have shown no detectable origin, meaning community spread was well underway already.

Now, that said, I could believe that the Wuhan outbreak started earlier than claimed.

This is what they have seen at the doctors office my wife works at, 2-3 people every week with flu like symptoms that test negative, back in mid Feb I went down with a bad cough which I never get, along with a few days of fairly high fever which I also rarely get and I tested neg for the flu, which I have already had Flu A and B this year neither of which were as bad as whatever I had in mid Feb.....tami-flu works wonders honestly.

Oh my lord. Buddy its possible a plane could drop out the sky and land on me but probably not. I have food, money, bullets. I think were gonna be ok and no I certainly dont depend on the government to take care of me. Im not expecting the great depression to pop up the next couple of weeks and neither should you

What I just saw showed the amount of cases coming in yesterday and today are pointing the curve in a direction we really don't want.

This is my concern. Are we taking baby steps compared to what we will eventually end up doing? Other countries are in front of us and we.can see how that played out. Are we headed for lockdowns like Spain,France, Italy, China? As the virus spreads so does the draconian containment efforts.

Who would have thought 6 weeks ago we would be where we are today? Imagine where we might be in 6 more weeks or 6 more months.

My wife is the director of a preschool program that has around 150 kids, and 18 on staff. Since October she has seen many kids , staff and parents get a negative flu test results after visiting the doctor with classic flu symptoms. I just ask about the pink eye, she did say that some ended up with it, she also said that she wasn't aware of any deaths of family members which kinda goes against what we're seeing with coronavirus

I'm trying to find a source on the 'early onset' theory online, but haven't found anything yet. Does anyone have one?
