I've been playing around with maps with python data. I know very little, but would be a cool idea to work on.Idea for any of you that are good with programming and maps- put together a live map showing school closings across the US. I haven't found one yet. I don't have the talent but it would be cool to watch. Someone could be the School closing knockoff version of the Johns Hopkins map.
Also, Tomer Burg who plots the John's Hopkins maps, has the python file on GitHub, if somebody could figure out how to edit it, or find a data source, we could plot school closings. https://github.com/tomerburg/COVID-19I've been playing around with maps with python data. I'll not disclose where I am employed (believe it or not it's a gov't agency), anyway.... we've been instructed to have all employees report to their chain if they or a family member has symptoms of the virus. I'm awaiting the flood or phone calls that tells me we can't ask them for their family members medical information and I tend to agree.

We have a saying in the teams. Dont run to your death. It means several things, not panicking being one of them. Be alert, be vigilant, focused and keep your head straightRegarding the whole panic is bad mentality. I say this. Panic can be a problem and can lead to things like economic slowdowns and burdensome closures.
However complacency can prove deadly to a lot of people.
Something is going on at the Jazz and Thunder game.
It’s also been stated that other countries said pneumonia was cause of death instead of coronavirus.Italy has over 200 deaths in the last 24 hrs....total sh-tshow over there.
Read some things about flu deaths and found this to be very interesting read that basically shows that flu deaths ( actual flu deaths ) are way overstated in the US and most other countries....its always flu and pneumonia but most are pneumonia and then most of the pneumonia cases are not linked to the flu...so those 30-60k flu deaths every year are really mostly pneumonia and most of the pneumonia cases are not linked to the flu....

Don't Believe Everything You Read About Flu Deaths
The CDC's decision to play up flu deaths dates back a decade, when it realized the public wasn't following its advice on the flu vaccine. During the 2003 flu season "the manufacturers were telling us that they weren't receiving a lot of orders for vaccine,"Dr. Glen Nowak, associate director for...www.huffingtonpost.ca
"But why are flu and pneumonia bundled together?" the article asks. "Is the relationship so strong or unique to warrant characterizing them as a single cause of death?"
The article's answer is no. Most pneumonia deaths are unrelated to influenza. For example, "stomach acid suppressing drugs are associated with a higher risk of community-acquired pneumonia, but such drugs and pneumonia are not compiled as a single statistic," explained Dr. David Rosenthal, director of Harvard University Health Services. "People don't necessarily die, per se, of the [flu] virus -- the viraemia. What they die of is a secondary pneumonia."
Pneumonia, according to the American Lung Association, has more than 30 different causes, influenza being but one of them. The CDC itself acknowledges the slim relationship, saying "only a small proportion of deaths... only 8.5 per cent of all pneumonia and influenza deaths [are] influenza-related."
This is just plain stupidity. One can’t make this stuff up.
Do you mind sharing the source on that? Or if this was something heard secondhand. It’s also been stated that other countries said pneumonia was cause of death instead of coronavirus.
