Houston and San Francisco have banned gatherings through March.

Nets-Warriors is going to be played without fans. The first of what I think are going to be several cases like that.

Yep some here are just feer mongers. Schools today made an announcement to cancel some sports games but classes will resume after spring breaks as normal.
 
I actually found a lot of disinfect/cleaning supplies today. Only Aldi was doing a limit of 4 but they had plenty. And toilet paper is well stocked again. Dollar Tree had a lot of kitchen/bathroom pine glow that kills viruses the big bottles.
 
ISS (Iredell Statesville Schools) also making an announcement to keep fear mongers away. Out of County sports travel will pause but classes will resume as normal. Please take your information from a reliable source and don’t post rumors or broad brush everyone under the same umbrella as Harvard.
 
The company I work for just sent out an email saying if you’ve been on cruise in the last two weeks or have one planned over the coming month that you are required to work from home for two weeks upon return

I was going to suggest that we now have to take everything with an extra grain of salt, since things are really ramping up - but I'm afraid that would result in panic buying of salt like we have with toilet paper! ??

True universities will change to online school and public schools are normal as schedule
 
Idea for any of you that are good with programming and maps- put together a live map showing school closings across the US. I haven't found one yet. I don't have the talent but it would be cool to watch. Someone could be the School closing knockoff version of the Johns Hopkins map.
 
It amazes me how far we have come . 20 years ago, even 10 years ago a virus like this would have had us grind to a halt . Today we have other options , shopping ? Online . School? Online . Work ? From home . A bit of silver lining.

North Carolina state University where I go hasn’t announced anything yet but has instructed all professors to work on a plan for online curriculum.I hate the thought of going online remainder of semester .

I may take you up on that. She's on Spring break right now, but I can't even begin to wrap my head around some of it. I've paid online tutors like $50 at 10pm because it's so tough. Can't afford to do that on a constant basis!
 
I'll not disclose where I am employed (believe it or not it's a gov't agency), anyway.... we've been instructed to have all employees report to their chain if they or a family member has symptoms of the virus. I'm awaiting the flood or phone calls that tells me we can't ask them for their family members medical information and I tend to agree.
 
To go see DUKE/NC STATE tomorrow or not???

Let's see: pay who-knows-what for a ticket to see the same story I've seen so many times (NC STate loss) with the added bonus of contracting COVID-19. I think I'll stay home.

You know its gonna be 70 degrees on the golf course tommorow. My second cousin,the one from Italy , has been staying over and is runing a fever.. just saying... Good news is Im salary.

As I posted earlier today, some of the measures that might be considered for pandemic response run smack up against state & federal laws and regulations - like HIPAA, in this case.

Meanwhile, I like the one of the response actions that the Brits are implementing...?

You’re not allowed to. Per federal regulations. Also when federal employees call in you’re only allowed to ask if they or a family member is sick and if they’re using sick leave or annual leave.
