Supporting local eateries is a big deal. Do it of you can. We got a pizza kit from this place this weekend and they sold so many kits they ran out of dough.

Maybe this will allow these eateries to adapt and find new marketing avenues.

NC shutdown should still occur this week my employer is still handing out essential worker papers for all shifts today and tonight for those who did not get one Saturday evening. Not making this up but hopefully something changes course and it’s not needed.

However my company who makes a product that's labeled a certified medical device has made no mention at all about paperwork for us to come to and from work. Why is your CEO doing that but not ours who is acting like business as usual. You would think if they had the same info of a shutdown they would be gearing up for that and we are not.

Please let me share this in regards to a treatment,
I live in the Hickory, N.C. area. Yesterday morning, my sister who is 72 and has issues woke up feeling bad with shortness of breath. EMS responded and took her to the hospital. My other 2 sisters followed EMS and her husband to the hospital. When they arrived, my sisters were not allowed near the door, and after a few questions, my brother in law was told to go home and self quarantine.
The Dr. called shortly after ,said my sister has pneumonia and fluid in both lungs and is in critical condition, in ICU. Waiting for covid 19 test results.
Once you or a loved one goes through the hospital door, they will suffer and get better, or they may suffer and die without any family with them.
We need these drugs.
 
I think the NC governor should activate the emergency alert system that will make everyone’s phone buzz to help with compliance. I for one will not be watching all these press conferences there’s just too many like every day.

so is mine but that doesnt mean a shutdown is coming, it is called being proactive.

Congress not passing relief and the fact that we are half way done with our 15 day period is likely causing some businesses to just do nothing for now. I like that my CEO is prepared just in case **** hits the fan.
 
I’m starting to get the feeling this won’t go on as long as we first thought . I bet the government comes out and says it’s up to the states after trumps 15 day order expires except for the big cities that are having the biggest problems like NYV . Could be completely wrong but I just feel like they will try and ease the strain on society whil

My workplace is too close to Charlotte and travel will likely be impacted by a shutdown or shelter in place order if the city of Charlotte goes under one.

I agree, I mean at some point you have to let business go back to normal and get people working again. Perhaps with this new anti-viral drug they are hoping to let things go back to normal and those who come down with it and are in bad shape (critical) can be given this to help them recover and minimize the loss of life while also letting the economy recover.

They can find cure for this. But not cancer. Strange

I was kind of leaning the same way yesterday. We'll see how the numbers come out this week.

My guess, and totally a guess, is that this is his way of trying to force the hand of Congress to act on the stimulus.
 
I’ve noticed that most complaining about all of this are from rural areas. Initially they said oh it’s just China, then it’s just Italy, it’s just California, it’s just New York, it’s just Kernersville, NC now. Well how about when cases spike out of control in the TN/NC mountains we all just look the other way too? We (including myself) should be thankful places like Wilkes County has more time to order PPE and medical devices than the big cities ever did.

We will know by next sunday just how well the cocktail works. Looks like Gold so far, but NYC starts Tuesday with them. If they bat a 1000 like the french study of 40 patients did, then we will be heading over the hills and through the woods back to normalcy on rocket fuel. Whole purpose was a choice for saving lives over the economy. If we know we can save lives with the cocktail,then I bet he keeps up the campaign of social distance,hand washing but also lets hotels ,resteraunts fire back up. Since we will know for sure if we have an Ace in our hand. If the cocktail turns out to be a joker instead of an Ace,then all bets are off.

I think that is best case scenario we can all hope for at this point. The feds, or Trump's order, has had no impact on what states are doing. The Feds only recommend guidelines and it's up to the states to do what they want. If the Hydroxychloroquine show signs that it is really effective everything could be back open soon. (within weeks instead of months) We'd still probably want to shelter in place seniors until a vaccine is developed.

Are you talking about the state Governors opening hotels, restaurants, etc. or someone else? Praying the medicine works for mankind. If it works in NY cases then the FDA will just have to get out of the way and let people make their own decisions.
 
All nurses/medical people in Wilkes County are now being given emergency worker papers to bypass national guard or police to get to work. Seems like this rollout is occurring slowly for all essential businesses just give it time to reach yours.
