Harvey Weinstein has CoVid19. I can’t think of a better person to get this.

Edit: Watch. Weinstein is gonna get “Epsteined” by CoVid19. This is how Hillary gets to Weinstein. He has dirt on Hillary just like Jeffrey Epstein did. Easier to explain him dying this way than say, oh I don’t know, him hanging in his cell.

We certainly can't just do nothing and continue business as usual. With as contagious as this virus is, we're talking 10's of millions (if not 100's of millions) of Americans infected. With a 1% death rate.... That is a horrifying number.

The preliminary vote was supposed to happen today. From what was said in press conference the Democrats are not wanting to include help for big businesses. President made the point that we should help workers first but we must help the employer so the workers have a job to go back too.

Looks like the Worldometers site was indeed having an issue earlier. Cases are back down to 32k (from 38k before), though we are still at 8,500+ new cases today and 114 new fatalities.

As mentioned below the procedural vote was today which means the vote that was scheduled for tomorrow is no more .

They could still get something done tomorrow but a new procedural vote would have to pass first in order to move to the final vote

I know it is intertwined, but as staff recommended, try to keep the politics out of this thread. I recommend discussing the stimulus bill in Politics thread as much as possible. Or else it will turn into the tiresome one side against the other bull poop that always happens. That doesn’t belong in here imo.

Great article, I think it's what most of us agree on.

Levitt said the social-distancing mandates are critical — particularly the ban on large gatherings — because the virus is so new that the population has no immunity to it and a vaccine is still many months away. "This is not the time to go out drinking with your buddies."

The goal needs to be better early detection — not just through testing but perhaps with body temperature surveillance, which China is implementing — and immediate social isolation.

Schools aren’t gonna open the rest of this year. This school year is over. No way they’re coming back. That 4-6 week timeline might be generous. We might now peak until the end of May.
