And here is another thing...My daughter works at a hospital. I just asked her what has she heard. ZERO. No talk, no literature no nothing. I ask her if she looks at bulletin boards to see if there is info. She said they even have huddles to talk about things of importance. Zilch. Now how in the world could that be? Either it is not that big of a deal or somebody is real stupid. You would think hospitals large and small, clinics, medical offices and anything in between would have to be talking about this by now...Weird.
I work in healthcare construction and I can assure you the hospitals have been getting prepared at least in Atlanta. We've been helping get areas ready for months.

That's good. You mean like building areas for the sick or quarantine and such?

Needless to say I don't want to look at my actual account until it rebounds...it has to soon doesn't it.

Those stocks that are on sale...some of us already have money in them and we can't really do a thing other then watch and hope. At least with one case I did get in at a great price, which happens to be google, and that is definitely still in the green on gains for me, but even that one is plummeting.
To my uneducated brain it screams “BUY!!” but I’m no expert.

Here are the current CDC COVID-19 advisories for international travel:

Warning Level 3: Avoid Nonessential Travel

Alert Level 2: Practice Enhanced Precautions

Watch Level 1: Practice Enhanced Precautions

That's me year round....

Coronaviruses have a big range of severity, ranging from a common cold to SARS/MERS (those were caused by coronaviruses) new novel coronavirus is In between those, more on the lower side

The strange thing is I’ve told my wife before all this in jest that everyone worries about a new flu or Ebola, but the cold will mutate and kill us all. While obviously this one won’t come close to that it really makes you think for the future.

Most hospitals have rooms or whole suites devoted to containment that maintain negative pressure. The trick is to upkeep them and make sure everything is as negative as it needs to be. Nobody thinks about that until something like this comes up and then it is a mad scramble most of the time.

I just put money in my IRA last week. Oops, LOL. At least it’ll be up in the long run.

The likelihood that this virus mutates is probably pretty good. Although there's no reason to think that it has to mutate into a more virulent state.

Thanks for the info. Glad somebody's paying attention. LOL.

I actually read before it really became bad in China from a virologist that in most cases viruses become less deadly as they mutate to become more contagious which makes sense from a viral standpoint.

I was quarantined for a few days when I had meningitis..I’m talking basement of the hospital, hazmat suits type of quarantine. Not a pleasant situation but I was desperate to feel better

I guess to piggy back off my last comment, from what I remember the quarantine section of the hospital was not all that big. I can’t imagine how overrun they would be if a community outbreak happened here. Wouldn’t be doable without makeshift hospitals.
