Misc Cold Season Complaining

Rant:

You could actually see and feel the deflation on TWC when they finally realized Tampa was not going to get that record storm surge. I get that there's a component to actually witnessing something historic, especially when it comes to weather...but, COME ON, MAN!!!!

...Off Rant

Maybe these big hurricanes coming through the gulf this late in the season will rinse the water and set the stage for a quick cool down. Keep that SER in check heading into met winter. Maybe this is Mother Nature doing some preseason healing 🤷‍♂️ I’d like to get @birdmanDookie ‘s input

We either get tons of rain or no rain at all. We’ve been dry for 2 weeks and no rain in sight.
Most everything has been tropical or indirectly associated with something tropical. Like the pre event leading to Helene. Other than that it's only been a two week stretch since way back in May, which was the back half of July that was about average rainfall not associated with anything tropical.

18 days without rain and no rain in sight. We had tons of rain in July, no rain in August. Tons of rain in September, no rain in October. We go from one extreme to the other.

John Deere announcing 200 more layoffs at a factory here! That’s about 1000 or so total from different plant sites across the state, just in Iowa and adjacent areas! Production jobs
Higher up jobs and management and engineering, has only been about 100 so far!

Unfortunately due to 40 being closed, I’ll have to drive through ATL to get to Greenville next week! 🥴🥴🥴🥲

The 6z GFS says it gets winter cold right around Halloween. This is the dew points for the morning after (Nov 1):

Now to complain for the name of this thread --- the models have been switching back and forth between a cold/warm pattern for the end of the month. So as we all know, this is just a dream at the moment...

Gonna have some arid, desert dry conditions, so those DP'S Falls Lake are gonna bottom out alot this fall, winter. Lots of maximum radiational cooling nights ahead. I sound like Shettly, but you can see this unfolding from a mile away if the pacific locks in on us , like it appears its getting ready to.

75 has a noticeable uptick in traffic; especially on weekends. Give yourself plenty of time since it backs up starting in cartersville.
I can confirm this to be true, as I live off of 75 between Cartersville and Kennesaw. Traffic has been absolutely horrific on 75, especially southbound, starting in Bartow County. Definitely expect delays in this area, and be sure to pack lots of patience! Good luck!

Construction ?

Construction ?
No, which is what makes it weird. Even without active construction or traffic incidents, it just massively slows down just south of Cartersville, every day for over two weeks. They did do some construction north of Cartersville last spring - I think there are some theorizing that has just negatively impacted traffic flow by funneling more traffic into the highway system without thought for “downstream” impacts. 🤷‍♀️ I definitely think there have been impacts from both hurricanes - we see a lot more Tennessee and Florida license plates recently. But I honestly don’t know what’s going on. We have lived in this area for 20 years and have obviously seen a lot of growth. But it has never been as consistently bad on a daily basis as it has been the last few weeks.
