Why the political get shut down? I thought they were only banning users not the thread.
We aren't going to make this hurricane political or about gw here. If you guys want to do that there's plenty of places to do that on Facebook, twitter, reddit

I feel ya, I wont move but I understand the feeling. Its not as much fun as it use to be as a kid.I've always had the sense to know that I shouldn't get excited for extreme weather, but there was always a small part that got excited even at a potential tornado outbreak, hurricane, ice storm, etc.
Thankfully all those "exciting" feelings are gone for good now.
If another hurricane forms and hits the same areas anytime soon, I will officially move out of the SE and I will retire from the public weather community as a whole.

Hurricanes suck, been saying it for years and won't stop. Not sure why anyone would want one. After watching all the damage and suffering I'm good for a decent snow event at best. No more ice storm/severe weather giddiness and all that, that's for sure.
Yet people keep moving to Florida. I guess most people aren’t afraid of hurricanes.Hurricanes suck, been saying it for years and won't stop. Not sure why anyone would want one.

So a 20 something demonstrated they can take down a thread where sites like americanwx have a political section and would have just banned him.lickwx nuked it w his last comment lmao!
It wasn't just one person or one comment, it was the totality of it all. Moderating that site is a lot easier said than done and that's all I'll say about itSo a 20 something demonstrated they can take down a thread where sites like americanwx have a political section and would have just banned him.
idk dudes welcome to his own opinion kinda hard to ban someone on that but it did seem like politics was starting to leak out of the political thread. So a 20 something demonstrated they can take down a thread where sites like americanwx have a political section and would have just banned him.
Yep, destruction is titillating as long as nature slams someone else. It's hard to be as pragmatic when you are the slamee. Now you know why I'm so down on zr. 73 cured me forever about being tempted by the shiny pretty glitter in the lights......it's just elegant disguise for potential kill storms. Hope that old house of yours survived the winds ok. Old as it is I'm sure it's seen wind and rain before, but maybe not this bad. I'm pulling for you.I've always had the sense to know that I shouldn't get excited for extreme weather, but there was always a small part that got excited even at a potential tornado outbreak, hurricane, ice storm, etc.

Wrong threadI thought this was interesting. People often talk about how the polar regions are warming the fastest but when you consider heat index tropical regions are arguably even more affected. Look at how much San Juan has warmed in just the last 50 years!

I retired at 52, not a single regret and recommend it to everyone. My dad retired at 55. He has no regrets.
But if you truly love what you do, why would you retire ?I retired at 52, not a single regret and recommend it to everyone.
Nobody is suggesting you retire from trollingBut if you truly love what you do, why would you retire ?

I don't want a hurricane, I want cooler weather. But by all means keep lying if it makes you feel good.I love getting clown emotes from actual clowns over not wanting another hurricane.
Maybe the guy's dog will wash away when he finally gets his storm.
Hasn't been on since Friday at 2am I know we give him a lot of ---- about drought but that's concerningPaging @JHS you alright? Haven't seen a post from you since the storm unless I just missed it
Okay, I guess I am lying about all the quoted posts below. There would be more, but they were moderated.I don't want a hurricane, I want cooler weather. But by all means keep lying if it makes you feel good.
I'm all for this hurricane if the GFS depiction of the storm is accurate. Drags some cooler/drier air in behind it.
This storm looks fantastic. Check please.
I'd prefer it miss them but anything to get a cool down here has my stamp of approval. Haven't been able to go outside without feeling like I'm in a steaming blast furnace since the end of April.
Regardless of how it happens I just want cooler and drier air here
Each of the 3 major global models shows a clean frontal passage here around hour 240 associated with the hurricane. Ian (2022) gave us a shot of cooler/drier air in late September. Wilma in 2005 was fantastic for us, days of highs in the low 70's and lows in the mid-50's. Sandy (2012) was similar.
Whatever happens is going to happen whether I want it to or not. May as well root for something that will improve my quality of life.
A bust for my potential cold front I think ideally the trough needs to dig earlier and the hurricane needs to shoot east across the FL peninsula. That's what's worked best in the past iirc.
We don't need the water either. I'm fine with a hurricane though as long as it drags some cooler and drier air in behind it.
We did just talk about it. I'm happy to deal with a hurricane, even one going directly over me, for the payoff of tolerable weather afterwards. Not a major hurricane but a TS or Cat 1 is totally fine. "Florida isn't for you" No, it clearly isn't. But I'm not a multimillionaire who can just move somewhere else because I like the climate there better. My job, family, and friends are here.
Does he have it on a leash? Kennel trained?I love getting clown emotes from actual clowns over not wanting another hurricane.
