I would like to be on record as disliking the tropical discussion being on a separate board.

Just imagine a 120-degree heat wave in our region. We’d probably have DPs in the 70s or 80s, too. 120/80 = heat index of 148! modernweenie

I don't rule anything out. Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't happen. We are in new territory in terms of weather so you can throw away climo.

Yeah we may never see 120 over here and I hope we don't ever come close! But our heat is just as miserable as what's going on out there even without the extreme temps. I remember end of June 2012 when the news.channel showed the HI map and it was 126 in the town of Kingstree SC. Yeah I'd take 120 without a HI over that anyday. In fact I think the heat index out there is lower than their actual temps

Be careful you may have a revolt on your hands . Word on the street is birdman is planning something big. He isn’t speaking crazy on here just in code , his earthquake talk is him referring to a shakeup in management really .

My buddy in Portland who did join here but never posted , sent some pictures of dead strawberry plants . The 115 degree heat killed his strawberry plant . Strawberries hate heat that’s why fruit picking season for em is April - may.

What if, around January 10, you picked up a 6 inch snowstorm, then about 2 weeks later, it got up to 72 degrees during a warm spell... would you still consider it a fairly successful winter month, since you did get a big dog storm? Or does the 70+ day later in the month disqualify it?
