Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

And to add to that, just so people know, it isn't about picking and choosing. Users of this site frequently report posts that are OT or just stupid things to say in non-banter threads. We deal with those, like we're supposed to do. And the posters that tend to get reported aren't usually one-offs. They're the same ones that for whatever reason can't figure out how to do it like everybody else.

I mean, if you quit annoying everybody, you probably won't get banned or be relegated to specific threads only.
It's weird how certain people get banned across numerous sites but it's always the site staff that's the issue and not them.

Hopefully GA finds a way to score in the next couple weeks. Been brutal getting fringed on every event this winter! Far NE GA has done well tho. I’m sure central AL peeps feel the same.
I 100% agree. Right now Birmingham,Montgomery,Atlanta,Columbus,Macon,Augusta/Aiken, New Bern/Jacksonville,and Morehead City/Cape Hatteras are basically the new snow drought hole regarding the south. These are the areas that havent gotten a decent snow event this decade that quite capable of having more than 1 decent snow event per decade based on climo. Let's hope next week is somehow able to bring the goods to all of these areas becasue after next week, I think we are going flipping towards a warmer pattern.

I definitely could have drove to the gym but I walked instead . I wish for gods sake we built walkable towns . That was a rough walk. Took me 35ish minutes . Not gon walk back getting a ride back lol. Unless I change my mind and end up hiking more

Admission: I’ve been using the term “Jeb walk” on forums for over a decade without even knowing the origin of the term. The lore in my mind is that there was a grizzled poster named Jeb who was known for heading out for a stroll in the absolute worst conditions, but that pretty much describes all of us.

What’s the true story behind this one?

Yep. You are 100% correct!

Yes! I got less than half an inch last night and it's basically gone now that the suns out. I REALLY want a hit next week. Then we can fail February and I'm fine. :)
Have over 6 inches for the year here, I want next weekend to put me over 10, the most since the winter of 13-14

This fluffy higher ratio snow doesn't do well vs sun
Speaking truth. The 8 inch snow that fell here with temps starting at 28 and ending at 22 degrees melted off fast. Even below freezing temps all day couldn’t stop the sun from eating it up. The best snows are the ones that drop a few inches of sleet if you like your snows to stick around. The upside though to high ratio snows is that they shovel very easily.

This will be the only time you’ll ever hear me say this .. but this could feel nice .. View attachment 109722
I’m actually ready to get above freezing for a few days. Low temp was 9 degrees this morning and I haven’t been above freezing since Wednesday afternoon.
