Misc 2020 Banter Thread

I'm happy that Dabo lost for once (don't ask) and can't really be overly upset about this year in college football. That was the Cam Newton year reincarnated 9 seasons later at LSU, excluding the cheating allegations. Just wasn't much that could've been done at all to change things this year, outside of maybe Alabama has all of their injured players, and even that's a maybe.

Congrats to LSU on having that kind of dream type season, and onward.

I needed to pack it up earlier and go to lay in bed for my hour or so before I sleep haha. I'm tired and I'm probably not going to sleep for a while longer.

So I just now noticed how confusing my location tag is unless you look at the map. It says "North, SC... Southern SC." I did not think when I put that haha. Some may have understood it, but for those who do not, I live in a very small town in South Carolina called North. I am around 35 or so miles south of Columbia, 35 miles east of Aiken, and around 75 miles NW of Charleston. My area is referred to as the CSRA, Midlands, and Lowcountry. Basically where they all kinda meet I guess haha... BUT, I also live in Meggett, SC part of the time, which is in southern Charleston county. I am actually on the coast there. It is close to Charleston, about 15 or so miles. I just thought I would share for those who may be confused, and maybe no one cares who knows.
 
Webb is presenting today in a few mins on the ENSO he will be back soon posting.

Just arrived from Americanwx, got tired of that site and the favoritism that took place. I was told to come over here for a better overall experience! I can already tell that this site is far superior! Anyway, I am looking forward to the pattern change and hope we can all score something before March!

Some good technical discussions go on over there though, just have to sift through the white noise. Especially in the TN Valley sub-forum.

Thank you storm!!!

When I see hundreds of posts in a couple hours it’s a bit exhaustive going through them for actual meaningful discussion. Half is easily nonsense and I’m not trying to be mean, it just makes it hard to comment when you have so much to catch up on. Posting is good for the forum but it’s hard to keep the meaningful convo flowing when there’s a bunch of banter. Thanks!

I’ve just moved and deleted about 20 posts to clean out some of the banter from the last couple of pages. Hopefully it’s a little easier to get through now. I’m going to have to aske for a raise after today!
 
In reference to phase 7 being good for winter storms, it may be due to the fact that storms like to cut in phase 7. However, in a lot of cases, there is enough cold air available to provide the upper south with wintry mischief. Phase 8 is more of a suppressed look and we often end up cold but dry while areas in the deep south can score. This upcoming pattern change will feature lots of energy flying around, which has already been shown. How these pieces of energy interact will not be nailed down in some case until 24-48 hours out. Bottom line is to let the pattern change take place and get some cold air in here (that's most important). Then we can focus on the individual pieces of energy. Dissecting storms in the medium/long range will just drive you batty.

While I’m hopeful of the new pattern and wintry chances, this winter will certainly not get anything higher than a C+ from me. It’s automatic letter grade deduction when you miss Christmas and another for missing first half of winter despite active STJ. And about to drop the + if we see one more thunderstorm with active bugs/frogs at night.
 
Right in the middle of reading, I get logged off and get a message that I have to accept cookies. Well, I accept cookies here, and it logs me off anywy and I have to quit FF and reboot to get back in (several times in the past half hour) ... someone giving me a subtle hint about my last post (LOL)?

There's something wrong with the server ...
 
MODS - it is impossible to reply lightheratedlty to a post in one thread and place the reply in another (i.e., can't reply with a tad of humor to a storm thread post by putting the respnse in Whamby ... you might want to make arrangements to do that so as not to cause yourselves deletion and/or moving efforts).

Sure you can. You just hit the +quote feature, go to the appropriate thread, and when you start your reply use the “Insert quotes feature located next to the attach files feature. Then you can insert any quote that you have added to your quote clipboard. Let me know if you have any questions.

My son's basketball team has a big game tonight in the local rec league. I'm also the team's coach. We're undefeated so far, and playing a team with one loss. Whoever wins tonight is in first place in the division. I've been nervous and excited all day.
