December of 2005 was a bad ice storm at my house at the time. February 2014 we dodged a bullet, got a mix of sleet and freezing rain. There were some really bad ones in the eighties but I don't remember them all.Absolutely agree! It was ‘94 for me at 6 years old.
Honest question here. How do I drive in freezing rain?
At least Dallas is mostly flat so that helps with winter weather driving right ?You don't, lol. Especially when you only have Summer tires (which is what people down south typically have).
In fact, as much experience as I have driving in snow, I very little to none when it comes to ice.
Lol just waiting for a random northern stream shortwave to show up inside day 5 & suppress the storm track over Atlantic Canada and New EnglandLol somehow this will become a severe weather bust View attachment 74136View attachment 74137View attachment 74138View attachment 74139
Not to mention, once you get to March. -PNA actually teleconnects to a trough just off the east coast. We suckWe’re not done man ? that sort of block = cad for days View attachment 74196View attachment 74197
Really hope we can repeat last MarchNot to mention, once you get to March. -PNA actually teleconnects to a trough just off the east coast. We suck
Unfortunately it looks like the -NAO will return ??Looking out a bit, the EURO and GFS say the -AO is about to go bye bye. If it goes you can bet it will take the -NAO with it. The one dead constant teleconnection for this winter has been a -PNA and all three models show it staying that way indefinitely
Doesn’t that eventually translate to warm humid weather anyways ?Unfortunately it looks like the -NAO will return ??View attachment 74202View attachment 74203View attachment 74204
Translates to later season CADDoesn’t that eventually translate to warm humid weather anyways ?
FixedHere’s to a record wet and warm March - April !
I thought in the summer it was a warm muggy signal though.Translates to later season CAD
Boo! We need some dryness .Fixed
I’ve never been one to doubt the -NAO .. well this year at least... it’s been constant and it got us in this whole mess anyway.. let’s see what else it can do for us laterUnfortunately it looks like the -NAO will return ??View attachment 74202View attachment 74203View attachment 74204
GaWx, I see that fog advisory down to SAV this morning. Did you get another fog walk in?Last night's walk featured pretty dense fog at the park. Fog is pretty cool to experience, especially when it cuts visibility to the point of not being able to see across the entire park.
First , your time scale is off . The level of cold Dallas is getting is considerably more extreme than that. Second we aren’t wasting anything, we don’t need a record breaking arctic front to snow . Just a regular one.The southeast is literally wasting an opportunity that only comes around maybe every 10 or 20 years. What a waste.

You need more than a regular front to get snow with temps under 10 degrees !First , your time scale is off . The level of cold Dallas is getting is considerably more extreme than that. Second we aren’t wasting anything, we don’t need a record breaking arctic front to snow . Just a regular one.
