In all seriousness this is what happens to a wamby thread when all models were spitting out lows below 10 degrees and multiple shots at snow/sleet that turn to more ------- 40 degree rain to 90% of the board

I normally am slow to buy into the models and even I believed we were going to go down into the single digits and get highs in the teens .

All I can say is I’m amazed at Siberia and how pretty much the entire northern hemisphere can somehow trace their record lows back to it. If I’m not mistaken , all our record lows happen with that cross polar flow. That Siberian air feeding into Canada and pouring in! Canada on its own can’t do it , but Siberia ? God dang! Siberia is thousands of miles away!

Probably because Siberia doesn't have a massive ocean to it's west feeding it more milder maritime air....it's just on the eastern edge of a large landmass(Eurasia).

Y’all need some motherpooping snow!

For anyone Raleigh eastward we did experience historic cold in 2018. Especially eastern NC which tied all time record lows with once in a lifetime type cold. Of course there was also the record stretch below freezing , night’s in teens and coldest first week of Jan ever ( maybe top 5 coldest ever period ?) . Don’t forget that lol, sometimes it’s easy to forget . Still capable of record cold.

I got to see fog coming off a frozen swamp when it hit 70 a week after the cold broke .

I’ve lived in the Northern Gwinnett County for pretty much all of my life(besides being at UGA to pursue my atmospheric sciences degree), but since 2014, the best winter event I’ve seen there is February 2020, which is sad considering it was just around 3 hours of wet snow that melted in the afternoon.

That seals the deal. I am no longer a Raleigh snow fan. I'm moving to San Antonio, Texas where it can actually snow
Gl with that man lol. Idk but I think you would be pretty disappointed . Keep in mind what’s happening is historic for em .... what San Antonio is getting wouldn’t be all that historic here . Mid teens ? 6 inches of snow ? Yeah no lol .

I'll say this, these past five years and especially this one have really killed the enthusiasm for following winter weather systems. The long term lack of snow plus non stop fantasy snow depicted in models this year that never comes to fruition, where's the fun?
And I don't count dustings here and there as a snow worth caring about, even though I enjoy seeing flakes fly.

My 7-day forecast must be a joke. I’ve never seen so many days of rain and 30s/40s. This is worse than Seattle. Now it snows everyday in Seattle, anyways.

Is there even a right combination of ENSO and MJO phases for us to get cold anymore? It doesn't seem like it.
