The last winter storm warning I was under was 2017 for 6+ inches. I sat under blue radar returns for 8 hours and got rained on. I got half an inch of sleet.

Sitting in Raleigh. Looking at NWS and local wx forecast basically telling me MAYBE i will see an 1/2 inch of snow (if I were to be so lucky). Them caving to the Nc/Va line for the good junk.
..........But...... reviewing those random NAM runs, the RAP, the HRRR and knowing there is the slightestttttt chance I cash in with snow, then get sleet and rain but a monster deformation band pounds me with fresh wet heavy pow tomorrow night.

Welp about that time to try to ignore the radar, obs, models until tomorrow morning those radar and hrrr hallucinations will make you crazy

I like it when everyone is waiting on the latest HRRR and when it shows rain there’s always that “don’t sweat it. it’s now casting time” comment. That’s one of my favorites.
You and @SD prolly gonna score with the ull as it passes by, I've got to hope and pray the initial band is cold enough to provide a slushy trash can topper
Precisely why I quit I'll look at the images posted but the current radar to our south tells you all you need to know

You could get caught under the 700mb convergence for a little while in the morning and do ok

It may not be good in your backyard but you can't say for the rest of North Carolina it's gonna be a bust before it even starts.

Thank you for proving my point...I never referenced “all of NC”. Central NC looks great.
Jim says it's gonna be really cold and snow, so I guess that's good.
