If they are hacking Webb, we're in deeper sheet than we knowI blame the Russian hackers trying to keep us from learning from the best.

Go Tarheels!UNC vs UK...what a quality basketball game. Not quite the scoring but almost as good as the parts of the game I saw earlier in the year.
Ditto!Hey Storm - did you have surgery today? How are you doing?

Im getting the same error at wxbell unrelated I know but weirdThis page occasionally comes up or the entire format of the site changes temporarily, it's strange and its been happening for about the past week or so to me. Idk if it's a router issue but I don't have this issue with any other website
Every scud cloud that is blowing around is a tornado. Lord forbid a little updraft comes along, or its automatically a massive tornado on the ground. We have people posting strong winds on facebook claiming it's a tornado then we have storm chasers getting out of their chase vehicle to pick up large hail stones AS ITS HAILING . Lots of idiotic videos floating around

People are in general that stupid. Likely all of them know little about safety and as for the tornado claims, they probably haven't used the proper tools in their life to identify any such things. Social media only seems to hype the stupidity it seems. We have people posting strong winds on facebook claiming it's a tornado then we have storm chasers getting out of their chase vehicle to pick up large hail stones AS ITS HAILING . It's all that cold weather we had months on end this winter ... LOLI think something is wrong with me. It's 75 outside but I'm sweating like crazy. It feels like it's 100 degrees to me. Maybe I'm just not able to tolerate warm weather as good as some people.
That's N FL after March ... try July ... LOLI had a strange dream that reminded me when I was thinking of the fading details of it, my last trip to Florida late last spring had me shaken with the idea of thunderstorms for a while.
So when we went to St. Augustine, FL last year, we enjoyed the trip but there was a thunderstorm every single day in the afternoon after daytime heating went on. Even on the day that we arrived. Right when we had arrived in the area, a major thunderstorm began. There was lightning all over the place and for a while, I was a little afraid of getting out of the car to unpack for the hotel room due to this thunderstorm.
There was a system with this thunderstorm, but the thing is, further north it wasn't really a serious thunderstorm. In Georgia on I-95, it was an absolute DOWNPOUR for most of the way down the coast for us. There was some thunder, but it wasn't really bad. When we got into Florida, it stopped for a while off of the interstate, then the major thunderstorm began.
Despite these thunderstorms, we got to do what we wanted to. Each morning and early afternoon had very nice weather.
That's N FL after March ... try July ... LOL
PS - You gave me another song line in there!
DealI'll make a "cross my heart" deal with folks posting in the sever weather threads - I'll pray long and hard you all have no property damage, no power outage, no days without A/C, no spoiled food in the freezer, and more importantly any loss of limb or life due to any severe this spring, if you'll do the same for me come mid-August until early October or so. Deal?

Thanks and I cleaned it up and added a bit more!Deal![]()
Yep, still a Deal. I don't care for the 'canes, either. We have rental property in Orange Beach, AL that took a beating from Ivan back in 2004. Took 6 months to get them back up and running, although we were lucky compared to many who lost everything. Thanks and I cleaned it up and added a bit more!![]()
I ("I" being a word I hate) went 7 days last season with no power at well over 90º with Hermine and then the mess with Matthew a few weeks later ... not to mention Frances and Jeanne in '04 and all the other nuisance TD's in between ....Yep, still a Deal. I remember it well (and you forgot Charley). Florida Power aka Progress Energy aka Duke Energy are customers of the Outage Management software that my group at work develops. Talk about 24-7 support, whew! As soon as we cleaned up after one storm, here came another one. Not a season that I ever care to repeat! Our software was pushed beyond the limits, which in retrospect, has made it much more robust over time. That was the first REAL performance test, to be sure.I ("I" being a word I hate) went 7 days last season with no power at well over 90º with Hermine and then the mess with Matthew a few weeks later ... not to mention Frances and Jeanne in '04 and all the other nuisance TD's in between ....
Could not agree with you more!
I hate 'Canes
I love winter
I'll quit using "I' immediately ...![]()
Didn't forget Charlie - he was headed right at us and then did the strangest and most abrupt 90º turn into south central FL - Gainesville is way north - but we were hunkered down for Charlie until about 6 hours before projected landfall and then he did his thingI remember it well (and you forgot Charley). My point exactly! Can't tell you how many times the recorded message is "We're looking for the problem"All we do is identify the source of your outages sooner so they can get restored sooner
Are they part of Duke Energy, or independent? Just curious. My point exactly! Can't tell you how many times the recorded message is "We're looking for the problem"
Gainesville Regional Utilities ... LMAO
Locally owned by the City and they are having issues - the legislature has a bill to set up a board to wrest control ....Are they part of Duke Energy, or independent? Just curious.
Have them contact my company for a demo. I don't know how to PM on this forum, if you do, send me a PM and I'll give you the info. Sounds like they need an Outage Management systemLocally owned by the City and they are having issues - the legislature has a bill to set up a board to wrest control ....
PM coming - BTW - Duke Energy supplies the University of Florida which is slap dab in the middle of town - they won't deal with GRU - put 2 and 2 together ...Have them contact my company for a demo. Charlie went right over where I lived in in Orlando. My parents were lucky, they lost power for 12 hours and they had no major damage. My apartment never lost power. Neither did my sisters apartment but she had water damage from water coming thought the walls. I was out of state during Francis and none of my family lost power for Jeanne, but I had friends that lost power for like a week with each storm. I was about ready to move to Nebraska after that hurricane season.Didn't forget Charlie - he was headed right at us and then did the strangest and most abrupt 90º turn into south central FL - Gainesville is way north - but we were hunkered down for Charlie until about 6 hours before projected landfall and then he did his thing

Very surprising that anyone in Charley's path escaped at least a brief outage. The numbers were unprecedented at the time:Charlie went right over where I lived in in Orlando.
