Holy hell Phil! You trying to keep me up late with all this awesome music? Gotta love the old Hammond organ with all these classic wonders :)

I hope it's not against the rules to post these kinds of external links, but this is one of the best love songs ever to strum across guitar stings and vocal cords. And this is one of the best performances of the song ever.

Until there is weather - why not get to know each other with good music and banter? Check out that JGB one I put up a few posts back - sit with a glass (or bottle) of wine and sip life ....

Oh, I'm watching/listening - and opening another bottle of gin :D

Y'all, I can't help it. I have to post one more of my favorite Clapton tunes. Please direct me to the closest Clapton forum, I'm obsessed.

She's actually an older kitten, she's about half a year old I think, give or take a couple of weeks. She was tamed by my dad at two, three months because his beloved older cat that he tamed a couple years back passed away last fall. (a former feral cat had her, and this formal feral cat is closer to being tame than I remember her)

There was a time, several years ago in which my neighborhood was filled with cats. Someone a couple doors down used to keep a lot of cats, they moved, and didn't take their cats with them (and that house is still uninhabited). So those cats just roamed the neighborhood for at least three months, and I remember one time, lets say I was 13 years old then, give or take a year, in which I found a kitten that couldn't be more than a day or two old just off of the side of the road near my house. I spent some time around this newborn kitten, and when I was finished, this kitten started following me a little like I was it's mother, which I found to be cute. (Sadly, I couldn't take this very young kitten with me to the house)

Eventually, the cat population really thinned out, but we ended up having four cats adopt my dad for most of my years in high school. These were domesticated cats that just didn't have a home and our yard kind of was their home. Unfortunately they all aren't here today (two disappeared, two got sick and died).

After my dad's first beloved cat passed, I remember in that summer, we had house mice appear. So he decided that he was going to experiment with taming this young feral cat that had appeared in his yard (the one I talked about that had sadly passed), and he was able to do so successfully (and apparently, the threat of a cat around has kept the mice mostly at bay). Not long after he did so, another feral cat that we think is his sister (and is still here) appeared.

That house may be uninhabitable after having a bunch of cats as it's only residents. Sounds like your dad is another cat whisperer! I like reading your stories, GeorgiaGirl. You have a very sincere quality about you - refreshing!

Do you remember the scene in Patton when he had the drink with the Russian general? Giving burns a"like" "over there" was the same dig ... :p

We had multiple members chasing the last few days . If anyone plans on chasing this week please message me or text me . Thanks

Moving this conversation from a specific storm thread to Banter. This video was taken by a co-worker from one of the buildings where I work at around 11 AM on 4/27/2011. The rotating wall cloud never touched down from this particular storm that I know of. The strangest thing about that day is we had tornado sirens blaring from around 4 AM until the power went out at around 5 PM (the sirens were inoperable without power). I still heard the wailing of tornado sirens for 2 or 3 days afterwards in my head. It was bizarre.

Goodbye Dwight Howard. First season in Atlanta, likely to be his last season in Atlanta unless this front office is off their rocker.

Hope all wake up safe and sound, and that all have a good week with rain and no wind!
'Night!
Phil

Way to go Lady Gamecocks!
Go Tarheels! Let's bring home another championship tomorrow night!

Since I knew that there was a threat of serious storms today, I spent some time reflecting on what I experienced for the second time about late May-ish last year late last night and earlier today.

I'm not sure that this was a direct lightning strike on my house, but I remember some time late last spring late in the morning or early in the afternoon, where during a bad pop up thunderstorm, at literally the same time, I heard a huge crash, saw light flash in the window that is behind me (the window and blinds were closed but it was like lightning came into the house behind me for a second), heard something electrical, and had the power snap all at the same time. This was the climax of the storm and it immediately calmed down after it (and there was no electrical damage), but it was surreal to have this happen as something similar to me happened in 2011, and it ended worse than it did with this time.
I was playing video games this time (silly me) during a thunderstorm and I heard the same huge crash, the power snapped, and I saw smoke come out of the TV (instead of the electrical thing I heard in the most recent time). I sat there stunned for a few moments, and my dad walked into the room and asked me "Are you okay?" (Because he knew that I was playing video games, but since I was using a Wii, I had a wireless controller)

Once the power returned, we found out that almost everything that needed electricity in the room was damaged by lightning.
