Wintry 1/9-12 Winter Potential Great Dane or Yorkie

The winter weather appears to be sticking to the advisory area. North of downtown Charleston but Summerville/Moncks Corner/Hanahan still has another hour or two of this

Even now that the ATL area has transitioned to IP, there’s still potential for more “snow” accumulations as that sleet will pile up at a ~3:1 ratio versus liquid equivalent, so you all could easily add another 1”+ accumulation if you all can battle off the arrival of ZR.

Guys the HRRR and last nights Euro, and I think the RAP nailed this heavy band in mid SC and the dry wedge in the upstate. I am a bit disappointed about this upstate dry wedge but that's the way it is. We need some precip this way, temp is up to 31 after a low of 22. Congrats to all those seeing snow!

Ripping even more. The boundary that was supposed to shift us to sleet has nearly vaporized and now is south of Rome down into ATL. I think our death band may be priming up
Interesting because it's about 50/50 snow and sleet here now.

Congrats to my ATL family! I was in Marietta in '93. Had a foot right off Powder Springs Rd. Still a top 5 storm for me.

I believe this one is going to be close for RDU. I expect a quick 1"-1.5" prior to switching over to ip/zr. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I never expect much if ATL gets a good storm. It always seems to turn out that way. Hoping this time is different...Cheers! Good luck everyone!

Got about 4 inches over in Villa Rica, not a bad storm. Transitioning fully to freezing rain and sleet now. We’ll see if the switch to rain fully happens and saves us from an ice storm situation. Loved what we got over here, and it was way more than I ever expected watching this system.
