Wintry 1/20 - 1/23 Winter Storm

How do you get the light precip to show up?

You have to select one of the different Color Palettes. Do the following:

1) Go to the Settings page and scroll to the bottom of the page
2) Select Color Palettes under the APPEARANCE heading
3) Select the type of radar output and then the Color Palette that you want to use for it

Under Reflectivity for example, the "Standard (Expert Mode)" allows you to see the very light returns that snow produces. Mine was set to "Standard (Low-Filter)" which doesn't show anything below 0 dBZ.

Hope this helps some folks that have RadarScope!

It’s filling in bud… these flakes here are still small, but it’s steady and cars and even mulch starting to get covered… these cold temperatures I expect the street to get covered before the grass

Light dusting of sleet in the mulched beds, increasing in intensity but still moderate at best. At some point we will flip, unsure when though as the transition line is a little west than what most guidance showed at this point. Heading out to pickup the wife from work, we rock an Outback with M+S tires, will report on roads once I get back.

Sleet slightly mixed in with freezing rain. There’s a pretty good glaze of ice. Hoping for a change over soon. I’m between Sumter and Florence.

Moderate sleet here....

Hopefully cause the storm is a little stronger maybe. I will trade a few tenths now if it add .25-30" on the backside when we dumping powder at high ratios....based on radar and sat trends this does look like it might be trying to over perform but that never really pans out for us so I just hope to get 4-6" and take that as a big win but the gradient for higher QPF to my east is sharp and not far away. ....latest RAP and HRRR still 4-6"with just .40-50" not the .70-80" just to the east.
