Sounding pulled under that death band near rock hill SC, there’s 160 joules of surface based cape under that thing, WTF 
If that band were to actually verify, I can only imagine the joy that would be in my youngest child’s eyes. He is 9 now so he was born 6 months after the White Christmas in 2010, and he always gets jealous hearing his older brother and sister talk about sledding on Christmas night 2010.

Right over my house, what could go wrong.
When I was a kid my late grandmother told me stories of snow on Christmas morning when she was younger. Now it looks like some of us could see Christmas snow twice in a decade’s time.

Anyways hopefully the hrrr/RAP stick to this, they have been really good at showing precip under UL energy, I think our problem will be dry low levels but we shall see

FFC’s new wording for my grid forecast is definitely more bullish than this morning. Seems they aren’t completely disregarding the changeover possibility indicated on the NAM and RGEM. Still relative, I realize. ?

Watching spectrum news and they are saying "sorry kids no snow for Charlotte". While it may be true, after looking at these short range models such as rap and hrrr I think there's a possibility of flakes

Yooo, if that comes to fruition, I may have to eat my words. If you get under one of those bands I could easily see someone getting a quick dusting. Will it keep showing up though? That's the million-dollar question.

If the HRRR ends up right someone may end up with a surprise. With the temperatures in place being in the mid 20s to low 30s if you get anymore then a few flurries for a prolonged period of time your gonna get a least a dusting if not a little more.

Given the cold air aloft/at the sfc, kuchera in this sort of setup is ideal, and definitely more appealing to the eye ?
Hopefully this holds, I have my doubts tho, there’s things that can go wrong, could be some virga issues with this with low levels to dry
It honestly looks like the HRRR is just ramping up the squally weather at the end of its run ... tonight’s 00z HRRR will be very interesting ... if these short range models are picking up on this I could see someone seeing some surprise Christmas snow that actually could designate them having a WHITE CHRISTMAS ... this would be the ultimate surprise set up for many people

Looks like the kind of hit or miss showers you see in summer. Maybe some areas will get a few inches while others nearby wont see a flake ?

How does the modeling even know where these convective bands set up? I mean it seems to me that the only take home message is that these bands likely will form but who knows precisely where.
