You’re not getting the good stuff. I love their very lean and tasty pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, and steamed brocolli. I just had this yesterday. Also, supposedly they have excellent shakes. In addition, service is with a smile like at Chic-Fil-A.

They are everywhere up here! Since they were started and based out of Wisconsin, they are about as common as McDonald’s up here. And DQ’s outnumber McDonalds, I would bet! They are everywhere!
Maybe I just miss Bojangles too much!?
 
Speaking of good burger joints there's a ton of them in the Cape fear region.

You have Poes tavern which is a limited chain to just a few SE cities..... I Think there mght be one Savannah.

In-N-Out for burgers and Cane's for chicken, but neither are poll options, so trusty Cfa it is. Well, trusty 6 days of the week, that is. Still awaiting the day that In-N-Out comes to Georgia. It should come soon after the expansion in TN early 2026, and HQ move to Franklin. The TN locations will have the signature crossed palm trees as well!


Cfa matches the Cfa climate of most of the SE well
 
I don't typically partake in fast food but I've made an exception recently for Slim Chickens. Their tender mac bowl is absolutely fantastic by fast food standards.
 
Chikl fil a is the worst hands down I hate everything about it. Their food sucks their ordering system sucks. Go to AI and get rid of the chatty Kathy's taking the orders. They talk to dang much.

To the people in line who are so undecided they take 5 minutes to order.....go the F inside and order. I was 3rd in line to order. First car took about 5 minutes to place a dang order. They move forward and you would think the 2nd car in line would know their order. . ..NOPE between the chatty Kathy and undecided driver it took almost another 5 minutes. I get up there and it's "5 piece kids meal no sauce with a Choco milk and brownie" literally took her longer to enter my name and vehicle description than it was for me to order.

Hate chik fil a should be a national day

I can't say I hate Chick Fil A but I do believe it is overrated judging by the crowds of people you see at their locations waiting to get mediocre food that could be found with the same quality and taste at most of the other major chain fast food restaurants. My wife, on the other hand, loves Chick Fil A. She has their app on her phone and it is on her computer screen in her vehicle.

I don't eat much fast food but two favorites of mine when I do are Hardee's and Taco Bell. Me and my stepson still spend megabucks on our orders if we go to Taco Bell for some strange reason.

Lol wut?! It's hands down the best run fast food chain out there. The problem seems to have been the people trying to figure out what to order, as though CFA is some sort of new place to eat that has just popped up.

I do like Hardee's, but they have made SLOW into a feature.

Maybe it's because the ones here are always so packed but they are always slow as molasses. Their chicken sucks. Zaxbys embarrasses CFA when it comes to chicken

Man, Zaxby's is definitely good. But the chicken sandwich at chick fil A is much better than Zaxby's. Now, Zaxby's chicken stripe are better than CFA, I'll grant you...especially the buffalo.

Zaxbys fries are better and I was sad when they took away the fried mushrooms at zaxbys. Those things were the best

If anyone is setting the bar for a good fast food hamburger with McDonald's, the bar is set very low. Even though Highway 55 in my neck of the woods is not your classic drive thru fast food restaurant, I think they have some of the best burgers around. Cook Out also serves a pretty good burger. Burger King would be my second choice behind Hardee's among more established, traditional fast food restaurants as far as burgers.

So if we were going to talk mount rushmore's of fast food burgers what do we consider. My personal Mount Rushmore would be .....

#1 monster thickburger (hardees)

#2 bacon king (burger king)

#3 cheddar style with chili (cookout)

#4 toss up between baconator (Wendys) or double quarters lber (McDs)

Now you make a great point about highway 55. Great burger but not really fast food. Once we bring those type of establishments into the mix then you have to add 5 guys and other local joints like Oklahoma burger and Islands burgers and fries which are here in Wilmington that have insanely good burgers.

I'm glad you said it because I feel the same way. Both in my area just aren't that good. Our relatively new Jacks was solid for biscuits but they have fallen off too.

Depends on the sub for me. Big Italian, Jersey Mike's. Hot turkey, Firehouse all the way. Meatball, Subway.

Leaving out Harris teeter which has good subs but for my usual buying it's Jersey Mike's. Expensive but when you get a giant you actually get a giant
 
As far as subs are concerned, I'll get Jersey Mike's or Firehouse if I want quality and Subway if I'm trying to save money or buying a large order. I miss the days when my son in law was the franchise owner at one of the local Jersey Mike's near my house and I would get free subs every now and then.

I like Jersey Mike's with Firehouse a close second. The others are alright. (haven't tried Publix or HT yet)

Actually worked at a Subway back in high school. (as a "Sandwich Artist") 😏
