Yeah, might want to keep it up for the severe weather. We get that year round and more of it in winter now than snow.Until Spring? We need severe threads... right? Please don't go...
Don’t fall for itThings you’ll never see again View attachment 142102View attachment 142101
When I was a kid we would get 200-3848 threats a winter with about 20-60 of them coming to fruition. Those were the good ol days… I remember them well indeedSeriously, when I first started coming to the weather boards it was only after reading the RAH office's forecast discussion and if they really started talking about the chance for snow or severe storms. I'm thinking it might be better to start doing that again instead of seeing the models show a threat for snow 7 or 10 days out only for it to go away as time goes along. It's a lot easier for me to handle a severe bust because we get so many severe threats year round now. But the snow threats seem less and less, making it a bigger disappointment when they don't actually come to fruition.
Long range forecasting has always sucked and it still does. I appreciate those who try to do it but the sad reality is that the results are no better than a coin flip imho. Maybe the real data says slightly better than that but the fact is I dont put much if any stock in it. And these days when if seems like heaven and earth have to move for us to get anything it makes it seem worse.2 more weeks guys. Trust the plan
You are due multiple wall to wall warm and below average snow winters … you moved to Dubuque at the right time ..I’m loving the above average temps, below normal precip El Niño’s! They are great!️?
I know I'd sounds bad but The only thing that has made it tolerable to me is the DC crew have been screwed for the past 2 years too. But I know its inevitable that they will soon get a foot or more and then complain they didnt get that extra foot the gfs was showing..... so I keep hoping we will score big first but of course we keep batting zero and its unlikely.I know what you're saying. It's been a tough month for me so it would be nice to have something positive to look forward to.
Too much hate.?I know I'd sounds bad but The only thing that has made it tolerable to me is the DC crew have been screwed for the past 2 years too. But I know its inevitable that they will soon get a foot or two and the complain some more so I keep hoping we will score big first but of course we keep batting zero and its unlikely.
? probably but after 25 Years of watching folks around there complain about amounts we would die for...i can't help it. ?Too much hate.?
I know man. I'm from there and we have been really spoiled over the years with some huge snows, but last couple years have been rough. Everyone over there at americanwx says that the MA has become Charlotte or Atlanta...LOL? probably but after 25 Years of watching folks around there complain about amounts we would die for...i can't help it. ?
Its probably going to come down to a nowcasting situation. Could change in almost any direction.I would have just rather just not had a chance at all than for me to just watch it fade north.
Winter Storm Watch is above WWA.Which one is the worst, winter weather advisory or winter weather watch? What the different?
wsw is lowest, then wwa. Watches become advisories if it's not within warning criteria closer to verification.Which one is the worst, winter weather advisory or winter weather watch? What the different?
Sort of like us NE Ga. peeps watching our 33 and rain on a stiff NE CAD wind while N. Carolina gets puked on.It’s tough for us boys to the east tracking a Mississippi snowstorm in the heart of winter

I should have checked my local climatology before buying this house. Hosed on NW flow events, and at the tail end of CAD events too. ?
No.... a winter weather advisory is an upgrade from a winter storm watch.Winter Storm Watch is above WWA.
I just want to know what wall the precip is hitting for us in Tupelo?? frame after frame of it not moving a mile. View attachment 142120
Ah, but a Winter Storm Warning is an upgrade from a WWA.No.... a winter weather advisory is an upgrade from a winter storm watch.
Cool. Not sure what that has to do with anything I said. Or why you have my avatar as a way of trolling me. Maybe you're just a jerk. When I was a kid we would get 200-3848 threats a winter with about 20-60 of them coming to fruition. Those were the good ol days… I remember them well indeed
Yes, a warning is an upgrade from an advisory.Ah, but a Winter Storm Warning is an upgrade from a WWA.
That's what i was getting at.Yes, a warning is an upgrade from an advisory.

Too far south or too far east here. Tale as old as time.Being too far south for precip for a snowstorm is a special kind of kick in the gonads in this terrible snow drought.
When I get there I hope I get the chance to ask him why he made it so hard for the southeast to get snow.i think it’s a legit question.Psalms 148:8
This is another instance where scripture uses nature to demonstrate the power of God. This verse reminds us that wind, mist, fire, hail, and snow are all obedient to the voice of God. This means that God is in charge of weather patterns in the universe.
