Don't count on it. Most of SC gets shut out of winter again. Not 1 flake or sleet pellet for many of us. I look for February to look like they have recently. Time to start thinking about severe storms instead of snow. This would be an incredible and historic week for the areas from Northern MS to N Alabama through all of TN if this happens on top on next week's storm. It would be a week of legitimate winter weather, not just relative to southern standards. Hard to watch from the Carolinas and GA; makes it feel too much like Feb 21. But man, surely February gonna be our month!
It feels like it's easier for MS to get snowstorms than it is for SC. Would you agree with that ?It’s tough for us boys to the east tracking a Mississippi snowstorm in the heart of winter
When you get an anomalous cold shot there is nothing in the way (mountains) delaying their cold. So a deep cold shot even with a storm that’s going to cut they can still find a way to line up some snow all the way to the gulf coast. However, when we get cold air to dig in to the east our western posters are often much warmer with a fresh blanket of rain on the groundIt feels like it's easier for MS to get snowstorms than it is for SC. CAD usually only benefits the Carolinas and maybe Northeast GA.This cold coming from the west stuff is for the birds, when’s the next super CAD?
I’m in a good CAD location in GA. We typically do well as long as the HP is strong enough.CAD usually only benefits the Carolinas and maybe Northeast GA.
The one that shows you getting the most. What to trust more at this range, globals or short range???
Atlanta is in the worst spot. Too far east for the cold to make it from the west and too far west for the best cold to make it from the east. I really would like to move out of this forsaken snow hole. When you get an anomalous cold shot there is nothing in the way (mountains) delaying their cold. Can you buy me the scrambled Cinemax?? I miss those days! ?its only $6 a month. Heck I'll pay it for you.
I know what you're saying. It's been a tough month for me so it would be nice to have something positive to look forward to.Looks like it might be a wrap for winter as far as I'm concerned.
Not gonna go into personal details but I'm gonna say I haven't had much things to look forward to recently so losing this really hurts, much more than it should tbh but whatever.
Probably for the best. Just go back to watching the mets on the local news and reading the discussion from the local NWS forecast. Then there's no disappointment from looking at the model runs.Winter is over guys. We are shutting the website down.
Until Spring? We need severe threads... right? Please don't go...Winter is over guys. We are shutting the website down.
Yeah I'm hanging on through the 12z runs tomorrow then I might be outWelp, only model giving me hope has caved![]()
I never watch local mets, the weather channel or any news organization. They are all liars.Probably for the best. Just go back to watching the mets on the local news and reading the discussion from the local NWS forecast. Then there's no disappointment from looking at the model runs.
It doesn't look like it will be heavy ice accretion. Probably just enough to make the trees look pretty.I'll take 12 hours of freezing rain if I'm not going to get snow. At least I'll have something. Haven't been in a true ice storm in years.
Sounds wonderfulLooks like 60s or more, for the end of January for all the interior SE,,FU
