Where did that little flare up over the eastern GOM come from? I know it sounds crazy, but with the ridge of the Gulf and that bath water, anything like that sticking around has got to be watched

Besides the TUTT issues mentioned in the last post, there is a lot of Sahara dust over the Atlantic as of now. That is supposed to start disappearing towards the beginning of next week. If the shear can slacken some too then we might be in business for some tropical development as we climb towards the peak of hurricane season.

98L looks okay this morning. Models are all over the place long term of course but there's been constant noise for an increase in action
I don’t get all the individual model hugging. Sure they show more activity but seeing the comments run to run over 5 days out is comical! I get this is a weather board and things might be slow but have realistic expectations!
