I agree. Some really pretty places too. Lived in Morgan County WV for 11 years. Fun Winters and summers not so hot.
To me Florida is kind of ugly except along the coast. Once you get away from the coast it gets ugly pretty fast. The Western states are the most beautiful imo, and Florida to me is not pretty at all. So the lack of natural beauty and a climate with very little change makes it hands down the last place i want to live.
LOL, yeah i didnt want to use the word ugly but i agree. To each their own for sure. I like rolling hills and mountains. I love the Virginia piedmont and I miss a yard full of leaves in the Fall and snow in the Winter. Not sure MB is gonna work out for me.To me Florida is kind of ugly except along the coast. A lot of spin ups from Tropical systems, and they tend to be weaker. It's hard to believe Florida gets more tornadoes than Alabama.
Virginia is one of the most beautiful states I've been to. I personally like the landscape of Virginia more than NC.LOL, yeah i didnt want to use the word ugly but i agree. Yeah i really like it too. I love East Tennessee as well, especially at the NC border. Very beautiful.Virginia is one of the most beautiful states I've been to. I personally like the landscape of Virginia more than NC.
I love the Northeast part of Tennessee from Knoxville northeast to the VA border along I-81.Yeah i really like it too. I love East Tennessee as well, especially at the NC border. Very beautiful.
NC mountains are hard to beat in the East, but i think Virginia's piedmont is much nicer.Virginia is one of the most beautiful states I've been to. I personally like the landscape of Virginia more than NC.
81 is just a nice drive. Especially north of Harrisonburg.I love the Northeast part of Tennessee from Knoxville northeast to the VA border along I-81.
To me much of NC is kind of dull outside of the coast and mountains.NC mountains are hard to beat in the East, but i think Virginia's piedmont is much nicer.
There's nothing like driving along I-81 on a sunny fall day.81 is just a nice drive. Especially north of Harrisonburg.
Hahaha.. NC cities are mostly in the Piedmont, so that takes away from some of the natural beauty in that part of the state i think. But yeah, the mountains and the coast are the nicest parts of NC.To me much of NC is kind of dull outside of the coast and mountains.
Wonder if they count the water spoutsIt's hard to believe Florida gets more tornadoes than Alabama.
I hope they don't. Tired of hearing him say how there has never been a snowless winter when indeed there have been many without measurable snow. That trace bs is recordable not measurable. But he won't be able to use that anymore after this yearI hope Charlotte gets a trace so ------------- can eat sh**
In some ways I do miss it. It takes away all the stress with no expectations. Well, with the expectation of January 2018, when we somehow got a dusting of snow and ZR in the Florida panhandle. That was cool.I should just move back to Florida and never have to worry about snow again.
Maybe not (although there have been a few bad outbreaks), but there’s fanfic about terrible Florida tornado outbreaks. ?No "strong" tornados.
Tropical cyclones spawn a lot of tornadoes, and the Florida panhandle gets some of the same tornado systems that generate the outbreaks in Alabama and Georgia. It's hard to believe Florida gets more tornadoes than Alabama.
I think so. My memory is failing me, but I recall a tornado outbreak when I was living there in the panhandle that was relatively strong and widespread. The Florida panhandle is probably more prone to strong tornadoes than the rest of the state right ?
but honestly i dont even consider the Florida panhandle to be a part of Florida. It is more similar to Alabama imo.I think so. My memory is failing me, but I recall a tornado outbreak when I was living there in the panhandle that was relatively strong and widespread.
This is an expensive hobby if we have to buy vacation homes to enjoy it. ?We’re thinking about getting a vacation place in Boone. Go up there when they are expecting snow and enjoy the snow. Come back home and not stress about when it’s going to snow again.
As someone who lived there for a few years, in many ways there is truth to that, but the state capital is still up there, hah.but honestly i dont even consider the Florida panhandle to be a part of Florida. It is more similar to Alabama imo.
yeah but the further west you go in the panhandle the less Florida-like it becomes. The Central Time Zone part of Florida is what im referrring to.In many ways there is truth to that, but the state capital is still up there, hah.
Oh yeah, and frankly there just isn’t a lot in the panhandle, period. In Tallahassee, it took three hours driving to reach cities of appreciable size (Jacksonville and Pensacola). It’s a vast area without a ton of people. It is surprisingly hilly, too.yeah but the further west you go in the panhandle the less Florida-like it becomes.
I never understood why they chose to put the state capital so far away from the center. The capital should be in Orlando. As someone who lived there for a few years, in many ways there is truth to that, but the state capital is still up there, hah.
Back when Tallahassee was chosen as the state capital, few people lived in Peninsular Florida and most people were in the panhandle. So Tallahassee was approximately the population center (it is in the center of the panhandle). Of course, that’s far from true today and there have been discussions in the past about moving the capital, but that doesn‘t seem likely.I never understood why they chose to put the state capital so far away from the center. This is the way. Except go higher up towards the TN line for a stone cold guaranteeWe’re thinking about getting a vacation place in Boone. Go up there when they are expecting snow and enjoy the snow. Come back home and not stress about when it’s going to snow again.

Kind of a similar situation to Washington, DC when you think about it.
The small stretch of the Panhandle probably has some of the prettiest sand beaches and water clarity in the country. Aside from Key West. Vacationed on a remote island in Apalachicola , south of Tallahassee. No light pollution. First time I have ever seen the Milky Way or the Milky Way containing a few million more stars.Oh yeah, and frankly there just isn’t a lot in the panhandle, period. S'winter.
