Wintry December 23-26 2022 Winter Weather and Cold

Car doors about to freeze over..33 and falling. Still pretty wet in the driveway and road. Flash freeze about to be an issue here.
 
The wind is screaming in Lexington, SC already. Here we go. Was really hoping this would have held off a bit, oh wells.

27mph is my highest gust but sustained 20 for a while. Hopefully we don't get any worse

Lake Murray isn't massive by any means, but being so close to it's really allowing the wind to kick up. I'm thinking aside from the Windchill, this lake is going to keep my area just a tad bit warmer with actual temperatures.

I feel like you should be much higher than 27 already; where is your station at? Shielded by forest etc?

Yes a shtton of hardwoods..never get an accurate wind reading. Judging by the treetops and what clemson airport recorded I'm sure we were well of 30mph.
And man lake Murray is like an open field in the plains...been caught by many thunderstorms on there...it ain't fun!
 
The wind has failed to dry the tropical CAD conditions up in time. I’m surprised there’s no winter weather advisories for flash icing. More than just black ice I’m talking all surfaces going to ice including the trees.
 
Many kiddos will be able to go sledding this morning. So much water freezing up on the grass. Probably work better than most snow events.
 
I sure hope not. But the wet soil could cause some big issues. We had heavy rain yesterday in CLT and the winds are howling currently. Power flashed on and off here
 
Check out the Beech Mountain NC webcam for true blizzard warning criteria. Not expansive enough to issue a blizzard warning for the entire county.
 
gradient is wild, 28 in Clemson, 34 GSP, 39 Spartanburg, and then over in Charlotte is 48
