Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Looks like we’re in for our first widespread ice storm in quite some time. Will be interesting. I’m not sure what to expect. I’m still hoping for a couple hours of pure snow on the front end, but I’m not very confident in that. The ideal would be a couple hours of snow, then sleet, and finish it off with ZR. Would form a nice snowpack and would be good for sledding!

I have not seen a full-fledged ice storm in probably 15 years. I'm looking forward to it as long as I still have power. ?

Yes I’ve not seen precip below freezing in years, this’ll be special. A truly sad state, but here we are. Desperate times call for desperate measures! ?
 
I think it’s warmer by like a degree than it was when I went out 3 hours ago but it feels way colder for some reason

Right. Which makes us highly dependent on wraparound which I feel like almost never materializes or underperforms. Maybe I have recency bias. Yet mets say don’t underestimate ULL.

Agreed. I'm getting something frozen thats going to stick, even if its just a little bit probably.. And, there's another thread already for next week's threat even before the first one arrives? Stinking cool. Amazed and thankful for this pattern after last months torture.
 
The cold that's depicted on the Euro alone is incredible. It's one thing that the CMC was that cold...the Euro is very well thought of, and it was very cold.

I really didn't think it'd be possible to see something like that again. But maybe...it is possible to see it again.

Just for us to be disappointed again and either Nashville gets a foot or Savannah scores big and ATL is bone dry ?

Just joking though, its been a long time since we've had multiple storms pop up like this on the models. Who needs sleep anyway?
