I just wanna point out that this all started with an anafrontal system. cold chasing moisture has turned into an all out midlat cyclone. We love to see it!
Remember when it was never getting cold?Using the HRRR and RAP soundings, we don't fully transition to snow here until around 8 am. After that, we might get a two-hour period of good rates while the lift is maximized, with maybe an hour or so of leftovers thereafter.
I meant Athens Tennessee btwI’m not sure about that report, but seeing two in close proximity confirms that to me. It is definitely early. Mid-high 40s in that area right now
Yep I gotcha. Saw that report earlierI meant Athens Tennessee btw
Sticking to grill cover and patio furniture. Sleet snow mix37 and definitely a mix now
Best chances is along Highway 14 and east from the Greenville county and Spartanburg county borders. Probably nothing sticks but definitely a couple of hours of snow is possible in Spartanburg, Cherokee, Laurens, and maybe Union counties as this thing pivots out of here.
Shetley jackpot!
Remember when it was never getting cold?
What time is is supposed to hit Atlanta metro?Latest NAM has a big fat 3 inches over my head. But gosh darn the gradient is so thin. 15 miles to the SE is nothing and 15 miles to the NW is 6 inches. Granted a lot of that is probably sleet but still conflicted on waking up early around 330 or 4.
Around 3am give or take an hour. What time is is supposed to hit Atlanta metro?
I would suspect 5:1 ratio is about right for this one, unfortunately. If only we had 10:1 ratios. I'm worried that it will only be like 5:1.
Should be between 3 and 4. I think the all snow part will be really brief.. maybe it’ll last an hour, if that? What time is is supposed to hit Atlanta metro?
Never said it wasn't getting cold. I said there wasn't much to be excited about at the time. And at the time this wasn't even on any one's radar.Remember when it was never getting cold?
That's incorrect. Just drive up from there and temp was 51° in car and plain rain.mPing report of sleet near Dalton, Georgia.
I can verify the app is incorrect. It's literally rain and temp in the low 50's. I just drove from Dalton to my home.in Ooltewah.A second sleet report near Dalton GA verifying the first. Interesting
That’s probably confetti still falling from the orange bowl win lolMixed rain and snow report near Athens as well, feel like it’s early for that there
Got a heavy band to the southwest about to move inModerate snow and 34 at north Madison, already sticking
