Always are, Phil. I talked to people today that were blase about it. The lack of certainty is what kills people...they don't get serious until it's too late. It's amazing what some wind can do. I'm reminded of all those people stuck out on the interstate in Atl in the deep winter because some wind froze down an inch or two of snowTony, unfortunately, some stupid decisions have been made by some ...![]()
Hope there is no ominous portending with that "!" in her eye ...![]()

easily, in the very warm florida straightsI dont see how it could strengthen very much with it being so close to Cuba ?
The Florida straits is the best water for a hurricane in her entire track hot and deep

AccuWeather's impact map

That is about the stupidest map Ive ever seen. Judging by that map, it shows the same impact level for North GA as it does for Florida. Also in AL, it shows the impact level going from extreme to insignificant in just 30 miles or so.AccuWeather's impact map

Lol. Going to be professional here.
Serious question though, the water near the keys is deep? I feel like it would be shallow

Yeah, I think it's a bit over done. I was just sharing that map, I'm not affiliated with it.That is about the stupidest map Ive ever seen. Waiting for the barrage of disapproval ...I may actually get what I've wanted all along. No, not a track into NC because that's what I called for landfall early on, but instead a track right into my back yard.![]()
It is not an exclusive club you seek to join, young man ...Waiting for the barrage of disapproval ...

One would think it would start to gain latitude soon but I've been thinking that all day....The next few hours will be interesting to see if it starts to gain some northward motion as it approaches the western part of the subtropical ridge. You would have to think a long east to west trip across Cuba would do some damage to the structure... maybe

Too big to get shredded; weaker, very likely; regroup and rekindle -- in all likelihoodMaybe itll get shredded in Cuba and come out a weak tropical storm. One can hope right ?
Probably won't get shredded but in the best if events the core could get disrupted a bit. I'm not sure it's very likely given how much is over water. Just hypothesizingMaybe itll get shredded in Cuba and come out a weak tropical storm. One can hope right ?
