You can see the dynamic cooling going on there with the lower surface temps under the heavier precip in northern GA. You're right though. The only way this works is if you get a 3-4 contour bowling ball rolling through the heartland otherwise it will phase too late and you get a cold rain event.

I love this look on the EPS 6 days out, if you want a good snow in NC from upper low, have it track just south of the I-20 corridor. We're a NW trend away from getting a big storm

Yeah that's not very far off at all, I'm pretty interested here. At least this stuff isn't sitting over SE kentucky and we are trying to find a SE trend

Apparently even Atlanta got almost 8 inches of snow from that storm. Never even knew about this storm.
