Wintry King Kong Winter Storm Potential Feb 13th-16th

whats the takeaway here?
I’m by no means an expert but shows 35 temp and 34 dew point at 0900 for Madison, AL. Shows the warm nose about 850 mb or 5000’. This is before heavy precip. It could fall more as colder air comes in later plus models have been running warm. This is only one model and one run of it, 22z hrrr. Bottom line it’s close.

Man that looks like a over performer incoming for Dallas

I've seen enough to conclude that this will, indeed, be the heaviest very cold winter storm for DFW on record. I've found 4 with temps mainly in the teens with ~1-3". This one will likely exceed 3". Not only that, but it is quite possible that DFW end up in the high single digits before this storm ends as they're already down to their low of the day of 13 and are falling further. I found no 1"+ storm where the temp was 12 or lower. This storm is incredibly historical! And there's another on the way! This combo of longlasting extreme cold and two big winter storms will very likely end up one of the most amazing wintry periods there for the entire 21st century, if not THE most.

Not sure I've ever seen a wind chill warning here

.WIND CHILL WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TUESDAY...
...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST MONDAY...

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow. Additional snow
accumulations of 2 to 6 inches across North and Central Texas on
top of what has already fallen. For the Wind Chill Warning,
dangerously cold wind chills. Wind chills as low as 20 below
zero on Monday morning and 15 to 20 below zero on Tuesday
morning.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast and south central
Texas.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 9 AM CST Monday.
For the Wind Chill Warning, until noon CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be dangerous through Monday morning.
Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
commute. Extreme wind chills as low as 20 below zero will become
life threatening to people and animals outside without adequate
warmth or shelter! The cold wind chills could cause frostbite
on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

That's what I'm expecting. Watching the nearby weather station sit at 32.1 most of the day and wondering whether I'm seeing glaze high up in the trees and checking shrubs for a little light icing. Typical for around here!

I would bet the top of the mountain there at Smoke Rise will get a good coating. Seen it many times in these type situations. I’m at 34.5.

The corridor from Bowie to Paradise to Runaway Bay 50-75 miles NW of Dallas (more or less halfway to Wichita Falls) has already received 3-4" per NWS with significant snow falling now and plenty more to go!

Not sure about Fort Worth but first ever Wind Chill Warning for Austin San Antonio

Per Jim Cantore, this is also the first ever Wind Chill Warning for DFW.

Just wait until they inevitably have to issue a Winter Storm Watch for the next system tomorrow morning, at the same time as our ongoing Winter Storm Warning, lol.

OKC already did so.
